Another Very Important Note of Caution having observed so many Essay Copies recently:
If you can prepare some set of anecdotes/introduction and conclusion(s) beforehand, it's great.
But I see people forcing irrelevant introductions to topics they must not belong. It looks like a digression and can lead to deduction of marks.
Be extremely careful about the same.
Make extremely relevant beginnings to the Essay.
An unplanned but naturally aligned introduction is safer than a planned irrelevant introduction to an essay.

Got a lot of queries regarding how is subargumentation done in terms of essay writing.
Here's an example on the Essay topic:
A MAN IS NOTHING BUT A PRODUCT OF HIS ACTIONS
Thesis analysis Subargumentation (Should cover around 50-70% of the essay length depending upon the topic):
1. Man is a product of his actions as human life is progressively shaped by one action over another
2. Actions of a man reflect his character. (Mahatma Gandhi)
3. Actions of a man determine his company and social relations
4. Actions of a man play an important role in shaping his destiny
5. Recurring actions (Habits) define a person (Aristotle)
Anti-Thesis Subargumentation (Should cover around 20-30% of the essay length depending upon the topic) :
1. Man is also a product of his thoughts, what he thinks he becomes
2. Man is also a product of his socio-economic relations
3. Man is also a product of his circumstances
Synthesis (Should cover around 10% of the essay length depending upon the topic) :
1. While man is largely a product of his actions, external circumstances play an important role in shaping him too.
Way Forward (Should cover around 10% of the essay length depending upon the topic)
1. Since man is a product of his actions, he should strive to improve upon them.
2. He can do so by building a better attitude, improving incrementally (atomic habits) and improving from external feedback and self reflection.
3. Develop a moral character and righteousness.
4. Such righteousness at individual level can lead to global peace and good.
5. Conclude with APJ Abdul Kalam's long quote
"Where there is righteousness in the heart,.........when there is... when there is... there's peace in the world.!
To write a good Essay, do this subargumentation and then substantiate each argument with an example.
PS: Do NOT Use PESTEL Approach in Essay.

Another important report after the one on Water Bankruptcy by UN-University:
Some key takeaways for CSE Mains 2026/2027:
1. The report analyses AI's carbon, water and land footprints and argues that one needs to look at all the three to assess sustainability of AI, as looking from one-angle can hide trade-offs.
2. It argues that AI's infrastructure as well as its benefits are unevenly distributed and they further widen the digital divide between countries that build AI systems and those that merely consume them.
3. Only 16% of countries host AI-specialised cloud compute and ~90% of that capacity is just hosted by US and China
4. Globally, data centers consumed ~448 TWh electricity in 2025, which would rank 11th if treated as a country. It was equal to a carbon footprint of ~189mt of CO2e, a water footprint of ~4.5 trillion litres and land footprint of 6900km.
6. AI infrastructure could generate ~2.5mmt e-waste annually by 2030,which is equivalent to discarding nearly 250 Eiffel Towers each year!!
Way Forward:
1. 6 principles for a responsible AI ecosystem- (i) transparency, (ii) efficiency by design, (iii) equity and environmental justice, (iv) lifecycle responsibility, (v) global cooperation, (vi) sustainable use
2. Govts should integrate AI into energy planning, carbon accounting, water governance, and land-use permitting
3. Users and organizations should adopt "fit-for-purpose" use by selecting the lightest model that meets the task.
4. Communities in Global South and water-stressed regions should be involved in data centre siting decisions
5. For Responsible AI, capability and stewardship needs to grow together within planetary limits.

This article came in the newspaper yesterday. (@clippingsbyfreshlensias)
Such articles can help you differentiate your answers by a great margin in Mains 2026/2027.
Recently, UN University Report warned of the "era of water bankruptcy". In that context, a question on Water Stress is likely in GS1/GS3 or GS4.
Regardless of wherever it appears, it's important to note the key takeaways and keep them organised in your Mains 2026/2027 notes on the same.
Some examples of the takeaways you must register in your mind and mandatorily reproduce in your answers related to this topic:
1. India has 4% of world's water resources but supports 18% of global population.
2. Schemes such as JJM, PMKSY have improved supply infrastructure.
3. 11 of 15 major river basins experiencing water stress with annual water availability of less than 1700 cubic meters per person.
Way Forward/Solutions to water stress:
1. Climate-proof water systems via granular risk assessments - Assess flood and infrastructure risk at a fine-grained level to prioritise investment in high-risk zones E.g. coastal low-lying areas and critical infrastructure. Use existing financing mechanisms such as Urban Challenge Fund
2. Enable water reuse for non-potable purposes in urban areas - Circular approach e.g. treat and reuse water for car washing, landscaping, cooling data centres.
3.Scale up micro-irrigation (drip and sprinkler) - Redesign subsidies using 0.4 hectares (not 1 hectare) as the base unit, to reach small and marginal farmers, Support a shift to low-water, higher-value crops (e.g. oilseeds, horticulture), Provide low-cost insurance with faster claims
4. Close water data gaps at the river basin level - E.g. through AI-based monitoring, smart bulk water meters and advanced water accounting
Now this becomes almost a ready-made, planned answer to any question of water stress.
Coaching compilations these days rely completely on AI and thus provide repetitive, redundant notes on such topics, thus making your answers dull. Some good work from your end (by reading newspapers regularly) can make a huge difference in your Mains answer writing capacity.
