The Idea that there is no soul in Buddhism is leftover mistranslation by Christian Europeans studying Theravada and the Pali Cannon. There’s no difference between a Mindstream and a Soul, The Dalai Lama uses the word Soul. The difference is the Buddhist understanding of what the Soul is. Westerners saying “There is no soul” with self satisfaction as if they’ve reached ascesis by denying Jesús are severely deluded and lack basic intuition. They’ve made an oblique curtain of conceptual nonsense, and tall chair for their ego to look down on others. My advise is to generally throw out old Pali Canon translations, they’re filled with the same useless Anglo overthinking to the point of hard boiled nonsense with a disguise of higher consciousness that plagues all European philosophy.
