News article: FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Mar, 2024) A 22-year-old motorbike-rider died on Friday evening when a kite string slit his throat in the limits of Factory Area Police Station. According to the police, the deceased, Asif Shafiq, a resident of Samanabad, was riding his motorcycle when he reached near the Novelty bridge on the Dijkot road. Tragically, a stray kite string sliced through his throat, leading to his immediate death at the scene before any medical assistance could be provided. A rescue team quickly arrived at the location and pronounced Asif Shafiq dead on the spot. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the grave dangers posed by the unregulated kite flying activities in the area. In response to the tragic event, the City Police Officer (CPO) Captain (retired) Muhammad Ali Zia took immediate notice of the incident and swiftly suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Factory Area Police Station. The CPO then personally visited the mortuary of the Allied Hospital, where he assured the bereaved family that the responsible parties would be identified and brought to justice.
