Unusual case of Issei Sagawa, also known as the "Kobe Cannibal." Issei Sagawa was a Japanese man born in 1949 who had a long-standing fascination with cannibalism. In 1981, while studying in Paris, France, Sagawa invited his acquaintance, 25-year-old Dutch student Renée Hartevelt, to his apartment, where he shot her in the neck with a rifle. After killing Hartevelt, Sagawa proceeded to sexually assault her corpse and then began consuming parts of her body over the next few days. He kept her remains in his refrigerator and even attempted to dispose of them by throwing them into a lake. However, Sagawa's crime was eventually discovered when he attempted to mail Hartevelt's remains to Japan. The package was intercepted by French authorities, leading to Sagawa's arrest. According to the police, the deceased, Asif Shafiq, a resident of Samanabad, was riding his motorcycle when he reached near the Novelty bridge on the Dijkot road. Tragically, a stray kite string sliced through his throat, leading to his immediate death at the scene before any medical assistance could be provided. A rescue team quickly arrived at the location and pronounced Asif Shafiq dead on the spot. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the grave dangers posed by the unregulated kite flying activities in the area. In response to the tragic event, the City Police Officer (CPO) Captain (retired) Muhammad Ali Zia took immediate notice of the incident and swiftly suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Factory Area Police Station. The CPO then personally visited the mortuary of the Allied Hospital, where he assured the bereaved family that the responsible parties would be identified and brought to justice.
