turbulent — full of difficulties, confusion, or strong movement Example: The country went through a turbulent period of history. circling the globe — traveling all around the world Example: The astronaut dreamed of circling the globe one day. murky — unclear or difficult to understand Example: The reasons behind the decision remain murky. leaky — allowing liquid to escape through holes or cracks Example: We couldn’t sail because the boat was leaky. haggard — looking tired, worried, or exhausted Example: After the exam week, everyone looked haggard. coveted — greatly desired or wanted Example: She won a coveted scholarship. commissioned — officially ordered or assigned something Example: The government commissioned a new bridge. outfitted — provided with equipment or clothing Example: The hikers were fully outfitted for the trip. charted — mapped or planned a route Example: They charted a course across the ocean. violently — in a forceful or aggressive way Example: The storm hit the coast violently. conquest — taking control of a place by force Example: The conquest changed the region forever. fraction — a small part of something Example: Only a fraction of the class passed the test.
