- The Muslim personal status laws set the minimum legal age of marriage as 15 years for girls and 16 years for boys in the West Bank, and 17 years for girls and 18 for boys in the Gaza Strip. The ages can be lower if a judge allows it (with a guardian’s approval in the case of the girl).

In addition to targeted violence, they are at risk for honour crimes because they do not conform to traditional norms regarding gender and sexuality. Sex reassignment surgery for transgender or intersex people is not common in Palestine. Under restricted conditions, a few reassignment surgeries have been performed.
