As Irish we are in a peculiar position here. I do be having thoughts on the subject and they are a bit more complicated than we'd all probably like... We have all the history of being colonized, subjugated, enslaved, and genocided, but... we're still a bunch of "White devils." We aren't anglos or conquistadors, but though we may share common "struggles" with many darker folks, no matter how "colorblind" we are, when we walk into a room, we are "Whitey". At the same time many "White Nationalists" will try to talk down and belittle the Irish for being Irish. A peculiar position indeed. Respect can be earned from either side, it's not that hard really, and those of us abroad will likely need allies... when given the choice between siding with fellow Europeans or swathy hordes, the decision isn't a hard one for me. I'd much rather be living in "nazi" Germany than the current "rainbow nation" of South Africa 'sea mhuise. That said, always choose other Gaels first.
