Baghdad called for negotiation to defuse regional crises and stressed that lasting Middle East security requires a just resolution of the Palestinian issue, protection of civilians, and reliable humanitarian access. 🔵 Geography can become opportunity Iraq wants to move beyond dependence on oil revenue by expanding production, exports, private enterprise, and investment. The government outlined reforms to improve services, fight corruption, and make it easier to do business. Energy remains central: Iraq aims to develop oil and gas, expand refining, and diversify export routes. The Development Road project carries a wider vision—linking ports, railways, energy networks, and trade across the region. When neighbors share routes and opportunities, they gain a stronger stake in stability. 🔵 Security means protecting the future The speech also placed water scarcity, desertification, and climate change alongside traditional security threats. Iraq called for fair water rights and cooperative management of shared resources. It pledged continued action against organized crime and cross-border drug trafficking. At home, the Prime Minister pointed to Iraq’s young population as a source of strength through education, entrepreneurship, and the digital economy. He reaffirmed commitments to human rights, women’s participation, children’s welfare, and the country’s religious and cultural diversity.
