RBI said its special US dollar-Indian rupee (USD-INR) forex swap facility has received forex inflows of over 136.3 billion US dollars till August 31, 2026. Of the total inflows, Foreign Currency Non-Resident (Bank) [FCNR-B] deposits accounted for the overwhelming majority, amounting to 127.2 billion US dollars. Meanwhile, Overseas Foreign Currency Borrowings (OFCBs) brought in 5.26 billion US dollars and External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs) contributed 3.89 billion US dollars.

ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan has said that EOS-05 Earth observation satellite will be launched on September 4. The satellite is scheduled to lift off at 2:55 AM aboard the #GSLV-F17 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota. Mr. Narayanan said #EOS05 is a state-of-the-art Earth observation spacecraft and India’s first imaging satellite to be placed in a geosynchronous orbit.

The Implicit GDP Deflator, CPI and WPI measure prices differently because they cover different baskets and levels of the economy. The #GDP deflator captures economy-wide price changes across goods and services, using 300+ individual price deflators, so it need not move in line with CPI or WPI.

Manipur High Court has also directed that the Census exercise remain deferred until further orders. The meeting reviewed the demand to defer the Census before implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

MEA said India has never recognised the arbitration panel, did not participate in its proceedings and will not be bound by its rulings. New Delhi also reiterated that the Indus Waters Treaty remains in abeyance.
