Well, it’s an annual, high-profile conference hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in Wyoming – and it brings together global central bankers, finance ministers, academics, and market experts to discuss major long-term economic issues and monetary policy
There’s a difference between the FOMC and Jackson Hole meeting
FOMC = THE Fed makes the decision.
Jackson Hole = THE Fed talks about the direction
The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) is the Fed committee that actually sets US monetary policy.
Jackson Hole is not an FOMC meeting they discuss “Where is monetary policy heading?”
Though the FOMC is more important, the Jackson hole can sometimes create a bigger immediate market reaction it’s from Thursday 27 August until Saturday August – with Fed Chair Kevin Warsh giving us keynote remarks@ 18:00 SA time
FYI: The meeting is named after Jackson Hole, a scenic mountain valley in Wyoming, United States, where the annual economic symposium is hosted.

EUR/USD seems to be retaining firm support at 1.16537 and is now testing the resistance trendline of its corrective bear trend – formed within the larger bull channel.
This could mean buyers are resurfacing.
If upside should persist above 1.16871 then a buy signal will be triggered

Firstly, I hope everyone closed GBPUSD yesterday with a small profit or around breakeven as per instruction. The price wasn’t moving away from our zone aggressively enough, so protecting the account was the priority. Tomorrow is always another opportunity.
Looking at our weekly heatmap, GBP remains one of the strongest major currencies on the board, while NZD is clearly the weakest. GBP is also outperforming USD by around +0.20% this week.
That tells us the strength behind GBPUSD is still worth paying attention to.
And here’s the interesting part 👀 I have an idea on how we can potentially jump into GBPUSD again today, but we’re not chasing it.
Let’s wait for price to come to us. If the setup confirms, I’ll share the plan with the family. 🔥

Price still hasn’t moved the way we needed it to. From our sell zone, we wanted to see an aggressive move to the downside, but we’re not getting that follow-through.
That hesitation is telling us there could still be more money sitting on the upside.
Let’s close the trades around break-even or take the small profit available. There’s no reason to force it and expose ourselves unnecessarily.

Price reached our SELL entry at 1.36155 and we’re currently about 20% towards TP.
Now we watch the next 30 minutes carefully. If price fails to continue moving lower from this zone, it could mean there’s still more money sitting on the upside that price may want to reach for. In that case, we might close the position early.
We’re applying our 2-hour rule here. We gave the setup enough time to do what we expected, so now it’s about protecting ourselves and managing the trade properly.

Price is already around 29,500, so we are not chasing the sell here. I want to see a pullback into a better premium area first, then look for confirmation to sell.

So with all the US economic data that came out with the key indicators being:
· NFP results coming out softer
· CPI figures that were in line with expectations
· PPI that came out softer too
The US Feb may just cut rates to boost economic growth
Result: Bearish dollar and bullish on nay other instrument inversely correlated to the dollar
Besides being good for commodities, a weaker dollar also often good for major U.S. stock indices like the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones..especially the Nasdaq100
