In NCERT, the use of the term "of them" doesn't mean it's 40 of 60. It has been used in general terms. It's 40 of 100. I've said not to over-look that line.

Be more conceptually inclined, rather than over-looking the lines of NCERT.
You can even google and check with World Health Organization or any other trust-worthy websites for the same. NTA will anyway go with the correct values and data only, as it is much evident in the recent years.
Anyways, probability of asking it in the upcoming years is very minimal. If at all this is being asked, don't over-think and go with the correct values.
