Describe your first day at school that you remember
- Before I begin the story itself, I'd want to let you know that I'm actually graduating from school this year, and it's been exactly 11 years since I first went to school back in 2013. And although so much time has passed, I remember my very first day at school like it was yesterday. Normally, in Uzbekistan, most parents take their children to school on their first day to make sure they don't get lost on the way, and, I can't remember why, but my mom didn't do that. She was like "Yeah, first day at school, good luck" and that's it. So, I had to walk to school on my own. Fortunately tho, I did not get lost on my way, because it was roughly a 10-minute-walk away from my house. Basically , it was very close. However, I actually didn't know what class I had to go to, because all I knew at that point was the location of the school and nothing more than that. I remember myself just staring at a crowd of people constantly moving back and forth, which seemed like they all knew where they were going to, while I was just standing there with no idea of where to go. And understanding that I had to be in some class, I decided to take a risk and enter a random class with a bunch of random people. And guess what, I was actually right. I was supposed to be in that exact class, but actually I realised I was right only after all the lessons were over, when my mom came in to take me back home. I mean, if I had been wrong, she would have definitely asked me why I was in a wrong class, which she didn't. And now, looking back at that day, I kinda feel proud that I wasn't afraid even for a second to get lost in the school and I'm happy I had the courage to take action. This definitely will be one of the most memorable days of life.

🔵 Approximation and proportion:
I also advise using set phrases to show approximation and proportion, remember that these are approximate and not exact, such as:
🔹️Just over a fifth – around 22%
🔹️Just under a fifth – around 18%
🔹️Slightly less than a quarter – 23%
🔹️More than two fifths – around 42%
🔹️Approximately half – 48%
🔹️Around a fifth – 19%
🔹️A large number of – around 70%
🔹️A large proportion of – around 70%
🔹️A significant proportion of – around 80%
🔹️A small minority of – around 5 to 10%
🔹️A small number / amount of – 5 to 10%
🔹️An insignificant amount of – around 2%
Example sentences (taken from various task 1 reports):
🔸️Approximately half of all vehicles produced in Japan were exported.
🔸️A large proportion of the population of Italy is under 65 years old.
🔸️This figure increased but then dropped to slightly less than a quarter in 2011.
🔸️The graph shows an insignificant amount of software was downloaded in the last part of 2002.
