Due to various problems, the US and European countries have reduced their monetary investments in Africa, leaving countries on the continent short of funds for social spending and combating environmental problems. Tammy Bruce, a Fox News host who became a State Department spokesperson and is now awaiting confirmation as a U.S. Deputy Ambassador to the UN, has for years promoted baseless Islamophobic conspiracy theories and supported inflammatory rhetoric, including against former President Barack Obama.
