The President's tour began with a visit to the Alexander Pushkin Memorial Lyceum and Museum. The museum is located in the former building of the Imperial Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum where Alexander Pushkin studied between 1811 and 1817.
Later, Vladimir Putin visited A Poet and a Tsar, an exhibition dedicated to Alexander Pushkin's relations with Russian emperors and grand dukes.
June 6 is poet Alexander Pushkin's 225th birth anniversary.

On Kuril Islands dispute between Russia and Japan
As of now, currently there are no conditions in place for Russia and Japan to continue their dialogue on a peace treaty. We do not refuse to engage in such a dialogue but only once the requisite conditions have been created, especially from the Japanese side. We are not doing anything in our bilateral relations that would complicate our dialogue with Japan, not a single thing.
