Application Deadline: 19 July 2026, 23:59 CET (Paris time). UNESCO is seeking emerging leaders who demonstrate a strong commitment to dialogue, inclusion, and positive social change.
Applicants must:
▪︎Be between 25 and 45 years old as of 22 October 2026
▪︎Have a demonstrated record of leadership in their field
▪︎Show commitment to intercultural dialogue and social impact
▪︎Demonstrate openness to self-reflection, dialogue across differences, and collaborative learning
▪︎Have the potential to influence and create positive change in their communities

| 3 | 2026 School of Government and Policy (SGP) AI Fellowship Program Application
An elite course in AGI Governance, led by Professors Gillian Hadfield, Seth Lazar, and Nicholas Caputo and explored through deep dives on pressing questions at the frontiers of the AI transition. After an initial level-setting session to shore up gaps in knowledge of AI itself and of the theory and practice of governance, we will lay foundations for and explore in depth a selection of topics such as:
frontier AI legislation at the state and federal level;
building societal resilience in the face of rapidly accelerating capabilities growth;
imbuing democratic practices into AGI alignment;
designing new governing institutions for the age of AGI and beyond, and
navigating fundamental changes in humanity’s self-understanding as we build new kinds of minds.
By assembling a group of ambitious, early career researchers and practitioners who are jointly focused on steering society through the AI transition, we are aiming to build networks that will, by enduring, support cross-sectoral collaboration through the turbulent period ahead.

Who can participate?
High school students in grades 8-12, college and high school students can participate.
The contest is held 3 times a year, and the first place winners in each of these 3 seasons will participate in a competition to determine the winner of the year.
The winners of each season will be awarded as follows:
– 1st place: $3,000;
– 2nd place: $2,000;
– 3rd place: $1,000;
The winner of the year will be awarded a cash prize of $22,000 in addition to the cash prize in the seasonal competition.
