To be a successful professional: 1. Energy: Energy is infectious. Energy can transform the dynamics of a team, or an office. Energy spurs action. No, it doesn’t mean one has to be boisterous, but it does mean being passionate and letting people know it. 2. Curiosity: Without curiosity, you will get dated very quickly. Be like a sponge. Soak up learning from everyone you interact with. Be a voracious reader. Sign up for online courses. 3. Agility: In a fast-changing world, you need to be agile. Be ready to unlearn to learn. There are no holy cows. The past is no barometer of the future. You can’t race ahead looking at the rear-view mirror. 4. Resilience: In trying new things, you will fail. That’s ok. But fail fast, learn fast. Pick yourself up and try again. 5. Trust: Don’t be a micromanager. Learn to trust your team. Only then can you delegate effectively? Give your team the freedom to fail. 6. Empathy: What are the motivations of the people you are dealing with? What are the challenges your team members are facing? Professional and personal. Understanding them is the key to making them realise their potential and be more productive. 7. Conviction: I have seen people without a strong point of view on anything. They agree easily. With their colleagues and with their clients. They follow a path of least resistance. Soon, nobody cares about what they think. Don’t be stubborn, but it is important to have conviction. 8. Humour: Humour is a great stress-buster. It relieves tension in pressure situations. Humour breaks barriers. I can say it from experience and with a lot of confidence that this is, possibly, the most underrated of traits in the corporate world Domain knowledge will continue to be important, but it is not a differential — it’s table stakes. In the new era, domain knowledge will also need to be refreshed frequently.

The process of CHANGE 1. IDEA : The first step in the process of change is having an idea. This could be a new concept, goal, or direction that you want to pursue in your life. It begins with recognizing a need or desire for something different or better. 2. THOUGHTS: Once you have an idea, you start engaging in thoughts related to that idea. You begin to explore and analyze the potential benefits, challenges, and implications of your idea. This step involves contemplating different aspects of the change you want to make and considering how it aligns with your values, priorities, and circumstances. 3. FEELINGS: As you continue to think about the change, emotions come into play. You may experience a range of feelings, such as excitement, enthusiasm, fear, doubt, or uncertainty. Emotions can provide valuable insights into your motivations and help you understand the significance of the change you're considering. 4. PLAN: After exploring your thoughts and feelings, it's time to create a plan of action. This step involves setting specific goals, identifying the necessary steps to achieve those goals, and outlining a strategy or roadmap for implementing the change. A well-thought-out plan increases the likelihood of success and provides a clear direction for your efforts. 5. HABIT: Change often involves developing new habits or modifying existing ones. This step focuses on integrating the desired change into your daily routine. By consistently practicing new behaviors or ways of thinking, you create habits that support the change you're working towards. Repetition and consistency are crucial in this stage to make the change more automatic and sustainable. 6. COMMITMENT: Commitment refers to dedicating yourself to the change you've set out to make. It entails staying focused, motivated, and determined despite challenges or setbacks. This step involves cultivating a mindset of resilience and perseverance, as change can be challenging and require ongoing effort and dedication. 7. LIFESTYLE: As the change becomes more ingrained in your daily life and habits, it starts to shape your overall lifestyle. It becomes a natural part of who you are and how you navigate the world. This stage is characterized by a consistent adherence to the new behaviors, routines, or mindset that align with the change you've implemented. 8. CHANGE: The final step is the actualization of the change. It is the outcome of the previous steps and represents the transformation you have undergone. Change can manifest in various ways, such as achieving a specific goal, adopting a new perspective, or experiencing a shift in your overall well-being. It signifies the successful integration of the desired change into your life.
