Mandatory membership in state bar associations should be repealed in EVERY state. A person who has paid the price to attend law school and worked hard to graduate should not be forced by state law to be a member of a lobbying organization where leadership has the potential to engage in partisan politics in regulating attorneys. If a client is wronged by a lawyer, that client has a remedy at law with a malpractice lawsuit. The client can also fire the lawyer and withhold fee payments. The judges before whom a lawyer practices in court cases can discipline a lawyer for any misconduct in the courtroom or in the course of the legal proceedings. Each lawyer has the right to decide on whether to be a member of a bar association. Or not to be a member. ABOLISH mandatory BAR membership!!! End the political witch hunts!!!
