DuckDuckGo ensures anonymity by calling the chat models on the user's behalf and replacing their IP address with its own. The company removes all metadata containing personal information before sending queries and has agreements with AI providers to delete saved chats within 30 days. Users can access DuckDuckGo's AI chats through duck.ai or using shortcuts on the search engine. The feature is free with daily limits but may introduce a paid plan in the future for higher limits and access to more advanced models.
