The embattled airplane builder is investigating quality issues on the Dreamliner after discovering hundreds of fasteners have been incorrectly installed on some undelivered jets, Reuters reports citing sources.
The fault involves incorrect “torquing” of over 900 fasteners per plane - split equally down both sides of the 787, the sources said.
Boeing is working to understand what caused the issue and how much work needs to be done to rectify it. The company said there is no flight risk.
