Hello everyone, I've created a separate group for those interested in investment and learning through live sessions. You can join this group to keep discussions focused; this current group is only for engineering updates. In the new group, I'll share investment-related information and conduct live sessions. If interested, join via the link I'm sharing 😊. You're welcome to share this with your family and college groups as well. Good Afternoon Sir, Here is my overall experience for BDL MT (Mechanical) held on 15 June 2023, Hyderabad. 1. They asked for my brief introduction and to mention briefly about summer training / project / experience etc. 2. Asked to explain in brief about industrial training and my M.Tech Thesis work. 4. Asked lot of details about my job profile in the previous company (IT sector). Asked why I joined IT sector after Mechanical engg, and why going for core sector now. Asked details of any other exam I cleared. 5. Asked different types of manufacturing processes. 6. Asked about factors to keep in mind while designing any component, an give an example. I gave example of Flywheel design. Then they asked purpose of Flywheel. 7. What is the significance of studying Engineering Drawing and Graphics 8. They asked basic questions ob Subjects studied in MTech. 9. I had done some elective subjects from humanities stream in college. They asked about one of them in detail. The total interview lasted about 9-10 minutes. Some questions asked to other candidates were focused on production , as BDL is a production company for missiles and related equipment for indian armed forces. But basic mechanical questions were also asked from other subjects like quality, solid mechanics, theory of machines. As BDL mainly manufactures for defense forces, it will be good to know recent news of this field. Also visit BDL website to know their missile products, key people in company, recent news about BDL etc. Sir I did following for my preparation: 1. Went through website of BDL, and recent news related to missiles, different types of missiles. 2. Prepared HR/Technical questions based on my profile - my college Projects, M.tech, Job experience. 3. Studied basics of all subjects with focus on conceptual topics. 4. Went through your Telegram channel to find Technical/HR questions of other interviews.

For BDL INTERVIEW PREPARE THIS PART ALSO DEFENCE / BDL-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS (VERY IMPORTANT) • What do you know about BDL? • What products are manufactured by BDL? • Role of Mechanical Engineer in missile manufacturing • Importance of quality control in defence production • What is reliability engineering? • Why tolerance & accuracy are critical in defence systems? • Safety considerations in defence manufacturing units

For oil India Strength of Materials (SOM) • What is stress vs strain? • Types of stresses in pressure vessels • Hooke’s law • Factor of safety – why is it important in oil & gas equipment? • Thin vs thick cylinders • Fatigue failure – why critical in rotating machinery? ⸻ Thermodynamics • First & Second Law of Thermodynamics • Rankine cycle (used in power plants) • Difference between open and closed systems • Entropy – physical meaning • IC engine vs Gas turbine • Why efficiency of heat engine < 100%? ⸻ Fluid Mechanics • Bernoulli’s equation (assumptions & applications) • Laminar vs turbulent flow • Reynolds number • Head loss in pipes • Cavitation – causes & prevention (VERY IMPORTANT) • Types of flow meters ⸻ ⚙️ Fluid Machinery (HIGH WEIGHTAGE) • Centrifugal pump: • Working principle • Priming • NPSH • Pump efficiency • Difference between centrifugal & reciprocating pump • Why centrifugal pumps are widely used in oil industry? ⸻ Manufacturing & Production • Casting defects • Welding types used in pipelines • Difference between TIG & MIG welding • Heat treatment processes • Machining operations basics • Why welding quality is critical in pipelines? ⸻ Machine Design • Types of bearings • Shaft design basics • Failure theories • Importance of lubrication • Gear types & applications ⸻ OIL & GAS–SPECIFIC QUESTIONS (VERY IMPORTANT) • What is upstream, midstream, downstream? • Mechanical role in oil production facilities • What equipment is used in drilling rigs? • Importance of maintenance in oil & gas plants • Why safety is critical in oil industry? • Basics of pressure vessels & boilers • What is corrosion? How is it prevented? ⸻ PIPING & INDUSTRIAL KNOWLEDGE (OFTEN ASKED) • What is piping isometric drawing? • Difference between pipe & tube • Pipe schedule meaning • Expansion joints • Valves: gate, globe, ball, butterfly • Basics of ASME piping codes (conceptual, not deep) ⸻ PROJECT & RESUME QUESTIONS (Almost 100% asked) • Explain your final year project • Why did you choose this project? • Your exact role in the project • What problems did you face & how did you solve them? • Any industrial training / internship experience? Tip: If you write something on resume → be ready for questions. ⸻ HR & PERSONAL QUESTIONS • Tell me about yourself • Why Oil India Limited? • Why Mechanical Engineering? • Are you willing to work in remote locations (Assam, fields, rigs)? • Strengths & weaknesses • Where do you see yourself in 5 years? • What do you know about OIL?

For oil India Mechanical candidates often report questions focusing on core subjects + job-related topics: • Mechanical fundamentals (e.g., fluids, machines, thermodynamics, pumps, piping) • Job/domain specifics like: • ASME piping codes • Isometric drawings or piping interpretation • questions about the role responsibilities in engineering projects • For some roles, basic design and equipment related questions can come up, e.g., understanding forces during drilling. Example type of technical questions reported: • What is isometric drawing? • Explain ASME piping code purpose and use. • What are forces acting on a drill bit? • Questions on basics of major mechanical equipment. Typical HR or personal round questions from candidate experiences include: ✔ Tell me about yourself (introduction + academics). ✔ Why Oil India / why this role? ✔ What skills or strengths do you bring? ✔ What are your long-term goals? These help the panel understand your motivation, communication, and fit.

Along with technical ones, panel may ask: ✔ Tell me about yourself (academics + project brief). ✔ Why BDL and why this role? ✔ Strengths/weaknesses and career goals. ✔ Willingness to relocate or work in any unit.

In BDL interviews for Mechanical candidates, most people share that panel focuses on core subject fundamentals. These often include: Questions from core mechanical topics: e.g., Fluid mechanics, Strength of Materials, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Machine Design, Manufacturing concepts. ✔ Projects on your resume — expect questions about what you did, why you chose that project, and how it works. ✔ Applied basics of subjects like materials, engines, manufacturing processes. Example technical ideas you might get asked: • Describe your project and your exact contribution. • Explain a concept from your favorite mechanical subject. • Basics like types of stresses, thermodynamic cycles, fluid flow concepts.

Prepare about companies from the website / prepare your hobby part / college project and basics of all subject
