IIT BOMBAY MTECH 2026 interview

Good morning sir.. IIT Bombay M.Tech Interview Experience (Mechanical – Thermal shortlist) The interview was mostly based on general Mechanical Engineering subjects. - Started with: “Introduce yourself” - Asked which subjects I was comfortable with (I answered: SOM, FM, HT, and basic Thermodynamics) Questions asked: SOM - How does a material fail under tensile loading? - Why does failure occur at 45°? - What does Mohr’s Circle represent? - Derivation of normal and shear stress equations for a uniaxial loading condition. - - Why can a flat sheet of paper not resist much load, but a corrugated sheet can? Heat Transfer - On which parameters does heat transfer depend? - Is temperature difference necessary for heat transfer? Fluid Mechanics - What is cavitation? - For increasing discharge, should pipes be connected in series or parallel? - Major losses depend on which parameters? - How does flow take place in pipe flow just due to pressure difference? Thermodynamics - Why is condenser pressure not reduced too much? - Why is pumping done after reaching saturated liquid state? - Why don’t we pump directly from the wet region?

EIL INTERVIEW 2026

Sir, my EIL interview was held on 13th May. During the interview, they asked me questions related to my project, summer training, and technical subjects. My project was on “Design and Analysis of Downdraft Gasifier”, so they asked me, “What is gasification?” Then they asked about my summer training. I told them that I completed my summer training at Northern Railway Workshop, Amritsar. After that, they asked me about my favorite subjects. I told them that my favorite subjects are Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Basic Thermodynamics, and Strength of Materials. From Heat Transfer, they asked: - What is conduction? - What is the governing equation of conduction? - What is thermal conductivity and its SI unit? - What is thermal convection? - In the case of free convection and forced convection, which has higher thermal conductivity? From Strength of Materials, they asked: - What is the Charpy test? - What is the specimen size/dimension used in the Charpy test? - What is the procedure of the Charpy test? They also asked questions related to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). In Material Science, they asked: - What is the difference between ferrous and non-ferrous materials? - In steel, what criteria define different categories of steel? That was all they asked in the interview.

“From 20 marks in GATE 2023 to AIR 496 in GATE 2025… and finally getting selected in NTPC EET — this is what real consistency looks like. 🚀 No shortcut. No overnight success. Just patience, hard work, failures, interviews, rejections… and the courage to keep going. Proud of you Saurabh! 👏 Your journey will inspire thousands of average students who think their dream is over after one bad result. Remember this line always — ‘It takes years… then it happens all at once.’ ❤️ Wishing you a great future ahead in NTPC and beyond. 🇮🇳⚡ – ASHCHARYA BANSAL EX IES OFFICER 📞 9205326638 📲 Telegram: https://t.me/Engineeringtalk #GATE2025 #NTPC #SuccessStory #MechanicalEngineering #GatePreparation #Motivation #Consistency #EngineeringStudents #MadeEasy #PSU #DreamBig #HardWorkPaysOff #AshcharyaBansal

Smiley Nahi Share your experience

Good morning everyone, I have a small request for all of you. Many of you have appeared for PSU interviews, IIT M.Tech interviews, and interviews at different institutes and organizations. A large number of students have secured excellent GATE ranks, including Top 100, Top 200, Top 300, and Top 500 ranks. However, this time very few candidates have shared their interview experiences, interview questions, preparation strategies, and overall guidance. Honestly, this is not a good thing because all of you were able to take advantage of valuable information only because your seniors from previous batches shared their experiences openly over the last 10–15 years. Most of you also benefited from the discussions and resources shared on Telegram and other platforms. If you have received help from seniors, then it becomes our responsibility to help future aspirants as well. Otherwise, upcoming students will not get the support and guidance they deserve. From my side, I genuinely feel that this attitude of not sharing information is not right. The entire student community grows only when everyone contributes. So I request all of you to please share: • PSU interview questions • IIT M.Tech interview experiences • Preparation strategies • Important technical questions asked • Overall interview process and guidance Especially those students who secured Top 100, 200, 300, or Top 500 ranks in GATE and those currently appearing for IIT interviews — please share your experiences. Kindly send all the details on my WhatsApp number by today evening: WhatsApp: 9205326638 I hope you will take this message in a positive manner and help future students as your seniors once helped you. Thank you.
