FIIs remained net sellers in the cash market on July 23, offloading equities worth ₹2,999 crore. They have now been net sellers in 8 of the last 9 trading sessions, with cumulative outflows swelling to ₹12,409 crore. Meanwhile, the FII long-short ratio in index futures declined further to 7.79% on July 23 from 8.13% in the previous session. Additionally, a steady short build-up has been visible in index futures over the last four trading sessions, reflecting a cautious undertone. On the technical front, Nifty has been consolidating within the 24,531–23,785 range on the daily chart since June 15, highlighting the absence of a clear directional trend. During this phase, the RSI made multiple attempts to move above the 60 mark but failed to sustain, indicating that bullish momentum has remained weak. Adding to the cautious outlook, the DI- line has crossed above the DI+ line on the ADX indicator, signalling that sellers are gradually gaining the upper hand. The index also formed a small-bodied bearish candle with wicks on both sides, reflecting indecision among market participants. Going forward, the 23,780–23,750 zone is likely to act as the immediate support for Nifty. A decisive breakdown below 23,750 could accelerate selling pressure and drag the index towards the 23,600 mark. On the upside, the 23,980–24,000 zone remains a crucial resistance. A sustained move above this hurdle will be necessary for the index to regain positive momentum. https://x.com/_sbisecurities/status/2080299702701240509?s=46

*Key Concall Highlights of Vishal Mega Mart 1QFY27:* ▶️ Gross margin improvement during the quarter was driven by lower promotional expenditure YoY. ▶️ The company is experimenting with a small format store which is half the size of a regular store and generates approximately half the revenue and margin. These are currently being rolled out in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, where regular format opportunities are reaching saturation. ▶️ *Store Expansion:* Management sees a long-term opportunity for 3,000 stores across India over the next few years. ▶️ Private labels continue to dominate contributing 75% to total revenues. Private brands account for 60% of volume share in the FMCG segment, Tandem brand holds a 50% market share within the appliances category at their stores. ▶️ The highest-priced fashion merchandise is the fastest-growing segment, seeing a 13.9% SSSG. ▶️ *Technological Initiatives:* The company is aggressively implementing RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) starting with stores in UP and Haryana, with a plan to complete the network-wide rollout in about a year. RFID allows for daily stock counting (instead of a monthly exercise), improves data quality regarding stock age and helps reduce shrinkage because RFID tags cannot be removed unless the item is paid for. ▶️ Quick commerce and digital channels currently contribute between 2-9% of store revenue, typically averaging around 5%. The average bill value for quick commerce is ~Rs 800, slightly higher than offline transactions. ▶️ *Pricing Strategy:* The company aims to protect customers from inflation by minimizing price hikes, particularly at lower price points. Any necessary price increases have been restricted to higher-end merchandise. *View & Valuation: The company has delivered in-line set of results. Management highlighted the scalability of their small store format in specific regions and the ongoing integration of RFID technology to enhance operational efficiency. Addressing inflationary pressures, the company has largely avoided broad price hikes to protect its value-conscious customer base. At CMP of Rs 110, the stock trades at FY27E/FY28E Bloomberg consensus PE of 51.2x/40.3x respectively. The medium-term fair value of the stock is estimated in the range of Rs 120-125.* *Kindly Note: The message provides a summary of the result update and SHOULD NOT BE TREATED AS BUY/HOLD/SELL RECOMMENDATION.
