🚨 SHUSH Vol. 1 // RECORD RELEASE CELEBRATION 🚨 Yesss, we’re absolutely thrilled to announce that we are releasing our first record in November and to celebrate, we’re throwing a day-into-night get down with the one and only Shy One from London as our special guest on the 16th of November. Shy One’s sound perfectly embodies the diverse, raw & soulful energy that’s been at the core of our nights in the last couple of years and it’s an absolute honour to have her spin for such a special day for us. It’s full circle, as when we first started doing this, she was definitely at the top of our list. Two of our SHUSH crew members, Annalisa & D’Monk, even connected for the first time at one of her sets, being the only ones in the room at Panorama Bar whaling away the lyrics when she played 'Stuck' by Peven Everett. Music is a connecting force! Our first time at Studio dB, we can’t wait get together in one of Berlin’s most cherished spaces and an all-around beautiful location. There’ll be food available on site, plus for this one it’s definitely time to be bringing our trusted sound system back out… As for the record? It’s a six track compilation, condensing the sounds & expressions of our larger community into one piece of wax. There’s some heat on there for sure… from familiar faces. Made to be played on and off the dancefloor, we’re very proud of the final product and can’t wait to share it with you all. SHUSH family! we wanted to point you to a very special release that is coming up – one by our own D’Monk, who will be releasing his debut solo EP ʼShine’ – out on Touching Bass on october 18th. many of you will remember when we invited Errol & Alex Rita – founders of the london-based community, label and dance night – to our own home in berlin, back in december of 2022. we were incredibly excited as it seemed like a meeting of kindred spirits. the night turned out to be very special and we developed a beautiful connection to them and their larger community in london and elsewhere. all of this led to – among other things – this release by D’Monk. two of the tracks featured – ʼDon’t State The Obvious‘ and ʼU Just Don’t Know What U Do 2 me’ are actually live recordings of our night, taken straight from the board, onto the record. the music is falling somewhere between warm-n-fuzzy electro, LDN broken beat, beatdown and the drunken, undefinable soul-dance of Detroit – with everything having D’Monks signature touch, which you’ve most likely heard at our events before, if you’ve been to a few of them. as it’s bandcamp friday, it’s the perfect day to pre-order the release here: https://dmonk.bandcamp.com/album/dmonk-shine listen to ʼListen‘ (first single): https://touching-bass.lnk.to/Shine out everywhere on october 18th.
