I recall a time in OSUT a battlebuddy and I left to use the latrine, followed by the platoon getting smoked, no sooner then after us leaving. After taking a dump we could hear the walls sweating on the other side, "hey lets sit here for a minute until it stops." But it never stopped. 20m turned into 30, it was too late to go back, we were fucked either way. Drill hat found us, we got smoked anyway. But that was probably some of the highest anxiety I ever had, worse than being shot at, or watching numbers for the company I owned going BRRRRR during covid.
