Kallakkadal (The ocean thief) 🌊
- Hundreds of houses have been flooded in several coastal areas of Kerala due to Kallakkadal.
- "Swell surges" in Malayalam are called Kallakkadal.
- Swell surges are very high waves caused by huge energy transfer from the air into the water (from storms, fierce gale winds etc)

🐟 Fish Otolith (Ear bone)
- Otolith is the ear bone of fishes found inside the head.
- It has a similar function as a Tree Ring.
- The Otoliths have a ring formation on them which increases every year. Hence the age of a fish can be determined by studying its otolith just like the Rings of a tree.
- Apart from this, Otolith is also used for jewellery making - called Sea Gems. Recently an organized Otolith Jewellery Market has been launched in India.
