One Day Trip
If we are going on a day trip, what should I take first?
Maybe a hat? Just in case it snows? Or a flashlight? If we get stuck somewhere in the darkness. And it's better to have a soccer ball, so that it won't be boring 🤔
Ask your students to take 4 things for the short trip and be sure to prove their choice.
How to use:
- students write: I take a power bank, because I need to charge my phone. Then, in pairs or mini-groups, they tell each other exactly what they have chosen and why.
- or: I take this item, because I want to protect my skin. Then they read it aloud, and the others try to guess what exactly Dima or Lena will take with them on the trip.

How about going to the beach? Let's go!
But in high season to find an empty seat or sunbed is a whole quest 🤓
Our beach is exactly the same - Summer Plurals Beach
Students roll a die, take a card (it is better to print several pages) and name a plural noun with this ending. And if you remove the “-ves” cards, then you can drill the verbs in Present Simple ☝️😉
If the answer is correct, the player moves their token forward according to the number on the die, if it’s wrong, the player remains on the spot.
+ The versatile summer playing board can be used with any topic either to practice grammar or vocabulary!

What has just happened?
Practice Present Perfect.
The material can be used as worksheets or cards. For stronger students cut off the word bank in order they have an opportunity to come up with sentences on their own.
1. Students work individually, look at the pictures and describe the results of actions. After that, the answers are checked in pairs. ✍️
2. Then have them play the Guessing game and practice general questions in Present Perfect. 🗣
One student describes the situation without naming the actions directly, and the other looks at their sheet, guesses what has happened, asking questions.
For example:
S1: The boy is on the sofa.
S2: Has the boy fallen asleep?
S1: Yes, he has.
Then they switch roles.

✅ The world would be better/worse without…because ...
👉 It's an excellent set of cards for warm-up activities and hot discussions, great for practicing Second conditional, and it also teaches students to learn how to express their opinion and argue it.
They can prove why the world would be better/worse without one or the other and also justify the right to exist of the other two positions.
📜 Students work in pairs or mini groups (3-4), discussing all three options and trying to come to a conclusion (every student may choose a different point and try to defend it.
