I miss the honky tonks, Dairy Queens, and 7-Elevens. And as things fell apart, nobody paid much attention.

Pixel Philosophy: The Lost World of Hans Asperger Hans Asperger's name is attached to a spectrum of symptoms of what he called autistic psychopathy. Autism itself is a common conversation topic, a psychiatric condition, and a struggle for many. At worst, the term is used as a smear against young men or anyone with specific interests or social hardship. Asperger's ideas also suffer from their roots in negative eugenics and the Nazi euthanasia program. Edith Sheffer's book Asperger’s Children (Norton, 2018). shows Asperger was a product of his time who was used to serve an unconscionable killing machine. Without ignoring Asperger's guilt (or defending the Nazis), we must consider that he was on to something. Social bonds, empathy, and connection to neighbors are essential to a healthy life. What Asperger called Gemüt, the ability to get along with others socially, is a vital concept. The sources are Sheffer's history and Asperger's 1938 and 1944 papers. Pixel Philosophy: Why Bulgakov Matters. Mikhail Bulgakov, who defended hierarchy and human nature against Soviet rule, is controversial again. Some in Ukraine, where the novelist was born, see him as an imperialist figure. He would have found that ironic, Bulgakov called himself an "uncompromising monarchist." It was a statement of defiance, a refusal to let the chaos of the present moment redefine him. His life and works reflected his desire to maintain a sense of self and an identity rooted in place, family, and institutions. Bulgakov wrote his most famous work, The Master and Margarita, under Stalin's rule, knowing it would never be published in his lifetime. With biting prose and satire, he chastised the society around him. Considering Telegram's roots, doing something on Bulgakov is fitting. This video tribute relies heavily on Marietta Chudakova's biography. @DystopiaGPT

Pixel Philosophy: Why You Hate The Internet AI makes content. Bots amplify it. Humans scroll past it. We are just an audience in a machine-to-machine performance. Even when real people post content, the algorithm decides whether you even see it. That's why your posts feel like they vanish into the void. And why so many retreat to private chats. Some call this dead internet theory: what looks like conversation is mostly bots talking to each other, optimized for ad revenue and agendas. That's what this week's video is about. But do you trust AI to warn you about AI? @DystopiaGPT
