yellow loveless (2013) is a tribute album featuring cover versions of mbv's genre-defining shoegaze record, loveless (1991). each track is covered by a different band, consisting a total of 9 bands (all japanese) like tokyo shoegazer, boris and shonen knife. although it is usually argued by fans to be just a bizarre mashup of various aesthetic experiments on the original material, yellow loveless doesn't fail to deliver on showing the listeners how the record would sound like through bloomy, piss-colored glasses. listen here
