Wow ...I guess our moral failings are caused by material deprivation... that's why we always need resources/programs/funding etc... the racist 1820s slave master believed the black man was motivated by a genetic inferiority ..'blood and bone'(racial condescension)aka genetic determinism and today the average progressive and npr viewer is really no different because to both of them the negro absent any sorta benevolent intervention is just a melanated blob of chaos pushed to and fro by historical injustice or current discrimination...all of our problems are caused by material needs that have not yet been met....
