Dear NU Community, The Astana O-fest 2024, a sport orienteering festival organized by the Orienteering Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is scheduled from June 21 to June 23. We are pleased to announce that Stage two of this exciting event will be hosted on the territory of NU on June 23rd. Orienteering is a dynamic sport where athletes navigate using a compass and map to locate checkpoints on the terrain (traditionally conducted on foot). The ultimate goal is to efficiently find all designated points and reach the finish line swiftly. Key attributes of a successful orienteer include speed, strategic route selection, and precise execution. The NU community is invited to actively participate in this event and extend their support to our guests. You can find details of the event and registration process at the websiteand in the brochure. In this event, up to 200 people (approximately 2-3 people in a group) will come together to showcase their skills in sport orienteering. The participants will be able to enter and leave the NU territory from Turan-1 post (near the Athletic center) by presenting their participant number starting from 10:00 till 15:00 on June 23rd. You can easily recognize the participants by their race bib, sport clothes and fast walk. The event will cover all the territory of the campus (including barbeque zone, with no entering the buildings). Important: Please avoid disturbing any special inventory placed during the festival. We kindly ask the drivers for special attention in order to avoid any situations on the road and obey the speed limit.  Thank you for your cooperation in making this event a success! ⚠️🎓✨Health and safety measures at Graduation / Оқу бітіру кеші кезіндегі қауіпсіздік және денсаулық сақтау шаралары / Меры безопасности и охраны здоровья на Выпускном_ENG-KAZ-RUS Dear Participants of the 10th Graduation Ceremony, As we approach the Graduation Day, we would like to congratulate all our graduates and encourage everyone to get acquainted with the following health and safety measures prior this event:  Parking and Campus Access: On June 7, 8 and 9, the campus gates on Kabanbay Batyr Avenue will be accessible from 8 AM to 8 PM. The gates on Turan Avenue and all other checkpoints will continue to operate as per their regular schedule, with vehicle access to the campus available only from there. Please note that only authorized vehicles (those with a campus parking permit) and the official taxi service will be granted access to the campus. We kindly request the participants and guests with vehicles arrive well in advance and park their vehicles off campus. Event Access and Navigation: The guests are required to present their graduation tickets to access the event venue. Please adhere to the instructions provided earlier for the Graduation ceremonies. It is crucial to keep pathways clear for emergency vehicles and personnel at all times. For assistance with directions and any other information, volunteers will be available throughout the campus. Security Measures: If you see any suspicious activity, report it immediately to the nearest security officer. Please carry your ID at all times. Security teams will be patrolling the campus. The visitors are prohibited from accessing residential blocks via skywalks. Fire and Emergency Evacuation from Building: In case of a fire or other emergency situation, please stay calm and follow the instructions of the designated staff. Leave the building through the evacuation routes and proceed to the designated assembly points. Do not use an elevator during emergency situations. For better navigation please get well acquainted with the HSE Instruction and Evacuation Plan in advance to ensure your safety. Emergency Medical Care and First Aid: In case of medical emergency, please contact the volunteer or doctor on duty. The First Aid Kits are available at the security posts if necessary. Click this link for the contact details of medical assistance available on site. NEW LOCATION: Block C2, room 1070 (1st floor). Opening hours: Mon-Fri 20:00 - 08:00; On weekends and holidays - 24/7. Phone number: +7 702 853 61 30. Medical office is equipped with the necessary medical supplies, equipment and medications where the doctor on duty provides emergency medical care to students, employees and campus guests. If you are limited in mobility, contact your on-call doctor in +7 702 853 61 30 to get help at your current campus location. We recommend you contact the doctor on duty before calling an ambulance.
