It’s a branch of mathematics that studies the behavior of players in systems where their decisions influence one another.

The task is to predict the rational behavior of participants.

🖥 How Does Game Theory Work in Blockchains? In Bitcoin, it helps motivate miners to act honestly. Economic incentives and the Proof of Work algorithm create an environment where it’s simply unprofitable for attackers to harm the network.

Example: If miners invest in equipment and then behave dishonestly, they risk losing all their invested funds.

As a result, the rational choice is to act honestly and earn rewards. 🤖 Optimistic Rollups and Validator Games In Layer 2 systems, such as optimistic rollups, validators assume each other’s honesty.
