🚨 UPSC 2026 Aspirants – Don’t Delay Your Prelims Prep! 🚨
Every year, questions in UPSC Prelims come directly from the EasingUPSC Test Series. In 2025 also, our students saw direct and indirect hits. For 2026, the same will happen – but only for those who start now.
👉 If you wait till Jan or Feb, two things will happen:
1. You won’t be able to complete the entire test series.
2. Even if you somehow complete it, you won’t have enough time for revision, which is the key to clearing prelims.
That’s why the best time is NOW. With just 1 hour daily for our tests, you can steadily prepare for Prelims while keeping your focus on Mains.
⚠️ Remember – if you ignore Prelims, your hard work for Mains goes in vain. Clearing Prelims is the gate to everything.
So don’t postpone. Start today. Build consistency. Secure your chances for UPSC Prelims 2026 with EasingUPSC.

4. Ignoring CSAT
Many believe CSAT is "qualifying" and leave it for the last moment.
But difficulty has increased, and even strong GS scorers fail here.
Example: A candidate scoring 120+ in GS but failing with 65 in CSAT.
✅ Solution:
Practice 2–3 CSAT papers every month.
Focus on basic maths, reasoning, and comprehension.
Do not underestimate its role; it can decide your selection.
5. Poor Revision Strategy
Reading a lot of books/notes without revision leads to poor recall in exam.
Example: Aspirant reads 4 books for Modern History but forgets facts in the exam due to zero revision.
✅ Solution:
Follow limited sources, multiple revisions (at least 3–4).
Use short notes/flashcards for last-week quick recall.
Revision > New Reading.
6. Weak Elimination Skills
Many aspirants know 50–60% of the paper but fail due to wrong guesswork.
Example: Marking 10 random guesses and losing 6 marks instead of gaining.
✅ Solution:
Practice PYQs + mocks to master elimination.
Learn patterns like extreme statements, always/never, mismatched pairs.
Intelligent elimination can add 15–20 marks.
Final Note:
Prelims is not about how much you know, but how strategically you prepare. Balance knowledge, practice, revision, and test-taking skills.

Why Do People Fail in Prelims?
1. Ignoring Prelims (June–December)
Many aspirants dedicate all their energy to Mains prep during this period and completely neglect Prelims.
Result: Lack of practice in MCQs, inability to handle negative marking, and poor recall of factual details.
Example: A candidate writing Mains answers daily but unable to cross even 60 marks in Prelims mocks.
✅ Solution:
Give 1 Prelims Test every 2 weeks.
Spend 1 hour daily to revise solutions and note recurring mistakes.
Example: If you solve 12–15 tests by December, you’ll build a strong base for both Prelims and Mains.
2. Choosing Money over Career
Many aspirants join the cheapest test series available, often poorly framed and irrelevant.
Result: Wasted time, loss of confidence, and missing real exam-level exposure.
Example: Solving 30 irrelevant tests with zero overlap in UPSC → losing one full attempt.
✅ Solution:
If you just want practice → rely on PYQs for accuracy + time management.
But if you want to cover syllabus + get real exam benefit → join a quality test series that has proven 40–50+ direct/indirect questions in UPSC Prelims.
Lesson: Money can be earned anytime, but one lost attempt sets you back 1–2 years. Invest wisely.
3. Starting Mocks Only in February
Some aspirants delay mock tests till Feb–March.
Result: Incomplete coverage, no time to revise bulky explanations (2000+ pages), and shallow retention.
Example: A 30-test series = ~2000 pages of solutions. Revising all of it in 2 months is impossible.
✅ Solution:
Start mock-solving now, not later.
Remember: Tests are not just for practice but for learning + revision + coverage.
Example: If you spread 30 tests across 9 months, you revise comfortably and reach exam hall with confidence.

“It is best to see life as a journey, not as a destination.”
Match from:
EasingUPSC – Essay Test 3 – 21st July 2025, Section A
Essay 5
"The purpose of life is to create meaning, not to find it."
Both are centred on the philosophy of
process over outcome
They argue that the value of life lies in the ongoing experience, growth, and actions (the journey of creation) rather than in achieving a fixed end goal (the destination of finding).
