In this GIMP tutorial I show you how to colorize black and white photos with realistic results! Add color to your desaturated photos or make your old photos look modern with this extremely effective technique. There are no plugins used or required for this tutorial - everything to achieve the result is included in GIMP by default! This is a great photo restoration or photo manipulation tutorial for beginners. I use a combination of layer modes, layer masks, paint tools, and palettes to achieve the result. One of the lesser known features of GIMP is its ability to create animations. In this tutorial I’ll be demonstrating how to create animated GIFs with GIMP so that you can create your own simple animations. This lessen in particular will be a demonstration of how you can create a simple loading spinner icon. In this GIMP tutorial, I show you how to animate still photos using a super easy technique. You'll be able to bring your photos to life - creating compositions like flowing waterfalls, flying dirt, floating clouds, etc. I'll be using the free G'MIC plugin to accomplish this effect. I also show you how to preview your animations in GIMP using the built-in Animation Playback feature, as well as how to export your final compositions to an animated GIF file.
