POSTPONEMENT NOTICE: SDBA-AustCham 10km & 5km Challenge 2026 Dear Team Managers, Paddlers and Partners, Due to the heightened haze conditions, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow's SDBA-AustCham 10km & 5km Dragon Boat Challenge. This follows the Haze Management Plan we shared earlier. The safety of every paddler, volunteer, official and spectator must come first. Please DO NOT come to the venue tomorrow. All races and related activities at the venue are off. We're doing our best to find alternatives so your hard work doesn't go to waste. Nothing is confirmed yet, but we'll share details as soon as we can. PLEASE NOTE: Registration fees: Non-refundable, as all event costs have already been incurred. If an alternative date goes ahead, we will do our best to carry your registration over. KWSC boat rentals: Teams who rented boats for the race will have their rental credited for future use. Finisher jerseys: Please assign one representative from each team to contact AustCham to arrange collection. Get-Together at Lion Brewery Co: Please follow AustCham Paddle Club's Instagram for updates. We appreciate your understanding, and we know how much training has gone into this. Thank you to our overseas paddling friends who flew in just for this race. We're sorry we couldn't give you the race you came for, and we hope to see you on the water again. 📢 Haze Advisory for All Teams Hi all, with the haze around, please take extra precaution when training on the water. 🚫 If the 1-hour PM2.5 reading goes above 150, there will be strictly NO dragon boat activities. This applies to all teams, including those launching from the nursery. ⚠️ If the reading is below 151, activities may continue, but coaches, please take extra precaution: 💧 Remind paddlers to drink more water ⏸️ Give more breaks 🛶 Keep sets shorter and avoid long ones Please check the NEA reading before heading down. 📣 Notice to Paddlers: Stadium Road Closure Please note that Stadium Road will be closed on 27th Sept due to KIPRUN Race. Dragon boat teams will still be granted access to launch from the Nursery. As the area is expected to see peak runner traffic around 7:00am, teams are advised to schedule their launch slightly after 7:00am to avoid the crowd. Please move with care around the route and follow any instructions from event marshals on site. Thank you for your cooperation, and have a good session on the water!
