NUS Commencement begins today! Congratulations to the Class of 2024, which includes exemplary student leaders such as Ashie Singh from FASS. In 2023 alone, Ashie received both the Arts Student of the Year (Merit) at the NUS Achievement Awards, and the Paul Abisheganaden Grant for Artistic Excellence. With the grant, Ashie will pursue her dream of studying acting at the renowned Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. 🗽 Looking ahead, Ashie aspires to contribute to projects that promote diversity and evoke deep emotions in the local theatre scene. She encourages aspiring student artists to fearlessly pursue their passions: “Take that shot at something you love. I’d rather you feel scared than feel regret. The Office Lobby of Centre for the Arts (CFA) at UTown SRC Level 3 will be transformed into the Living Arts Lab 🎨 – an artistically-inspiring and generative hang-out space for students to hold casual arts activities ✨ or projects or have open dialogue with CFA staff. Local theatrical designer and performer Hairi Cromo will lead a five-week puppetry workshop 🧸 where your final puppet creations will be put up on display as part of the Living Arts Lab exhibition.
