| 7 | I geuniely think more than half of big Minecraft Hardcore Youtubers are not legitimately in a hardcore world.
I haven't see a lot of discussion on this in awhile in minecraft spaces, so I thought I would just throw out my insight here.

Hardcore minecraft youtube is a big genre of content, and there is basically no reason not to go with hardcore mode over normal survival mode for thumbnail click rate alone as a youtuber.
​
I've only played Minecraft hardcore twice, and I only beat the game once out of those two worlds. The game mode, at least for me, very much makes you far more cautious than playing in survival, and also feels like the longer you play the closer to the world ending you are.

Now, on my second playthrough I cheated to actually beat the dragon, because I died from falling into the void. What I did was load a backup of the world. Now, I'm not a youtuber, so it only really affected me that I illegitimately beat the game in hardcore, but with how easy and how enticing the temptation was to just load a backup of the world, I have completely lost faith in any of these large minecraft hardcore youtubers actually accepting death as death in hardcore.

If they are a streamer and youtuber, I do think they are legitimate, because its far harder to fake hardcore on stream. But for minecraft youtubers who majority only record their hardcore world, I am very skeptical.
​
These youtubers are financially dependent on their videos making money, and tbh dying and losing their hardcore world will often make them lose views because most of minecraft hardcore content is less about the hardcore aspect and more about building insane things in hardcore, which is basically impossible to do without large farms being built beforehand.
​
And the thing is, there is zero risk of being found that you cheated loading a backup of a hardcore world. And its completely undectable unless their is footage of your world public before the last time a backup was saved.
​
I'm just mentioning all of this because I think people are parasocial with a lot of these large hardcore minecraft youtubers, and trust these youtubers to not lie about the entire gimmick of their playthrough, that being hardcore. But the fact is at least a few of these large minecraft youtubers have cheated death in their hardcore worlds, and even though I don't excactly blame them, I think that the hype around minecraft hardcore is a bit insane when a lot of that content is probably actually survival with extra steps to revive.

This isn't a attack piece on anyone really, just me airing my frustrations out about the minecraft youtube landscape.
