Repost from The Traditional Heathens
FORGOTTEN CUSTOMS OF THE GERMANIC PEOPLES: ÚTISETA
Many of the customs once familiar throughout the Norse world survive today only as names preserved in medieval texts. One of them was útiseta, a heathen practice that Christian lawmakers considered important enough to forbid.
The term is commonly translated as "sitting outside," yet the sources never explain exactly what the practice involved. They simply forbid it, suggesting the custom was already familiar to those expected to obey the law.
One of the earliest surviving references appears in Laurence M. Larson's translation of the Norwegian Gulathing Law. In its Church Law section, those who practiced witchcraft or "went abroad at night to call forth evil spirits and to promote heathendom thereby" were condemned. The Old Norse text includes the prohibition útisetu at vekja troll upp ("sitting outside to awaken trolls").
References to útiseta also appear in later Christian law codes. Other versions instead prohibit útiseta performed "to inquire into fate" (spyrja forlǫg). Beyond these brief references, the laws offer no explanation for why the custom was practiced or how it was performed.
In Shamanism in Norse Myth and Magic, Clive Tolley suggests that útiseta may have been a solitary practice intended to obtain knowledge from spirits, though the surviving evidence is too limited to reconstruct the custom with confidence.
Exactly how people practiced útiseta may never be known. Even so, the medieval sources preserve enough to remind us that it was once a recognized heathen custom, long before it passed into history.

Statement Part 2:
Kevin made this claim against Ox and I (in his words): "his kids literally stated they watch their parents have sex and get graded on what they see for sex ed". He also called Ox a “pedo” and reached out to another WI group asking if they wanted to help “burie” him *yes, you read that right, he spelled bury wrong.
At the Thing, there were representatives from multiple heathen organizations, serving both on counsel and as witnesses, including 2 from Wisconsin.
We cannot thank the RFU enough for their protocols for internal investigations involving new or prospective members, especially when accusations are made. Additionally, we would like to thank The Norrœna Society for their execution of our Traditional laws and customs. Justice was served. The counsel of the Thing conducted itself in the highest decorum of our faith and culture. And we cannot forget to thank our Jörðsvolk Félag and the greater Wisconsin Heathen community for stepping up and serving as witnesses to the Thing. Our groups may not always see eye to eye, but Heathen communities need to continue to support one another and hold all who claim to be part of our communities accountable for their deeds and words.
Hail Forseti!
Hail our ancient Law!
Hail the Folk!

Clauson Clan Official Statement (Part 1 of 2)
Although we are far from perfect, our path is one of honor and integrity. We hold these as the highest of standards. We strive to adhere to these high standards, both in public and in private, personally and professionally. Because of these standards, the path can be lonely as others fall short. In our culture, it is important not only to elevate our status but also to prepare our children to raise the bar as well. As a small heathen community, it has been important to Ox and I that our immediate circle also have the opportunity to elevate themselves. Sadly, not everyone will rise to the occasion.
Over the past 3 years, we have noticed a concerning pattern of actions and claims by Kevin (aka Bjorn), whom we have known for about 10 years. Prior to 2023, we had zero issues or concerns as he was not an immediate part of our community (proximity-wise), and so much of our friendship before then was online or occasionally in person. Once we moved to our forever homestead, we found out that there were heathens in the surrounding areas, including Kevin. We made a point to open our home to him and his family at our housewarming party, Blots, and other gatherings. In turn, Kevin invited Ox and me to things as well. Since we were new to the area when we moved here, we were under the impression that Kevin had, in fact, built a small community of folk, and we were excited and hopeful about meeting them. As it turns out, he didn't build much of anything himself.. As the Norns would have it, Ox, being the man of the house, opted to attend the first gathering alone to assess the group since we had had bad group/organizational experiences in the past. He wanted to do his due diligence to make sure it was safe for his family. At the event, the first of many red flags concerning Kevin began to appear.
About a year after this initial event, and after learning more about Traditional Germanic practices, we noticed inconsistencies and flat-out unethical behavior among those who were supposed to be Goði. When Ox called Kevin out on this behavior, all we wanted was recognition that he should not have done this, along with an apology. Without going into any more back-and-forth drama, this is where, unfortunately, the internal Wisconsin drama started. Due to Kevin's online persona being misleading with all his group/name changes and affiliations, Ox and I were concerned about the impression he was making on new folk or potential new folk curious about the Traditional Germanic path. We voiced some concerns to others but ultimately decided to "let it go” to keep the Frith, because when someone consistently lies, they will eventually get caught or entangle themselves in those lies. We just hoped that no one would be hurt by them. As it is currently, we have had zero contact with Kevin other than a few online exchanges in groups over the past year.
This week, everything changed. Ox, myself, and even our children were subject to slander in Kevin's attack. Behind the scenes, when Kevin was questioned about whether he knew us, he stated many slanderous things verbally and in writing. His statements were outright vile and dangerous to our family and the heathen community at large. These statements and stories from Kevin prompted Raven Folk United to question his claims. This triggered an internal investigation by the RFU, and they reached out to the Norrœna Society, making this a multi-community incident, and rightfully so. Especially with children involved.
During this internal investigation, we were made aware of all of the claims against us. In turn, we requested that the written and verbal (recorded) evidence be shared with our Felag, which was granted. We held an emergency meeting and voted to call for a Thing for Slander.
Of these claims, the most egregious was to be addressed.
Repost from The Norrœna Society
An unfortunate event has occurred in which a Thing had to be held in order to address an egregious case of slander brought before us. The accused was Kevin D’ Addezio, who did in fact willingly slander Ox Clauson in a way that was considered criminal. The verdict was guilty as Kevin brought absolutely zero evidence to prove his case and even had his own witnesses speak against him.
Kevin is the representative of several online functions including Goðþjóð, Wisconsin Sedish Folk, and Skaldsfire Wisconsin.
With this guilty verdict and the egregious nature of this case we hereby denounce Kevin and all of his efforts, declare him nið and strip him of any connection or relationship he has ever had with Kvasir Academy, of which he was once a student. His Ritual Certificate is null and void, and any claims he makes in connection with Sedian faith or Sedish values are hereby denounced.
It is regretful it had to come to this, but the protection of honor and our community is the greatest importance. Honor-robbers must be condemned on all sides and rejected from our entire community. Thank you.

Repost from Big Dave Sunchild
In this inglourious epoch, the world-cult’s mantra is to mock the father.
To disempower the patriarch.
No matter what side, what faction, what so-called ideology, their modus is the same.
Hostility to the loving and corrective paternal hand.
It is thankless. Many of our brothers suffer at the mercy of wicked walha family courts. In isolation, incessant boredom and toil that is beneath them.
All at the world-cult’s depraved delight.
Know this, Father. That your sires are enthroned in halls beyond. And they are watching you with mirthful gaze, waiting for the day of your embrace.
And in that moment, the filth and miasma of this age will seem as grains of salt before the vast and powerful oceans of time.
Moreover, in your hearth are living evidence of your value. There are little girls or little boys who stand in fierce opposition to the world-cult.
They look up and see a man of heroic proportion. The strongest man in the world.
And one ounce of their love is worth more than the wailing scorns of a million mutants.
So keep your chin up and your heart full.
You’re doing a good job, Dad.
Happy Father’s Day.

Repost from Pagan Revivalism
On this channel we keep things on a positive & informative note, but Odin declares to "call out evil when you see it" & that's what we will do.
On 3 December 25, this invader lured & murdered a young Englishman, Henry Nowak, with his poo-smeared sikh-shank. It cried racism, and Nowak, barely speaking, lungs filling with blood, cried for help & instead was cuffed by the traitor cops that swore to protect.
1. In our sacred ancestral faith, Odin in Havamal 38 declares you should have a weapon-at-hand for you never know what menace meet on the road. Timeless divine advice & is necessary today.
2. There are some who wish to cozy up to the invaders, so long as they're not abrahamic. They think, because we share a common origin (we dont), we should be ay-okay with these creatures in our lands & they even think we can ally with them against islam.
For a while, we've called out the subversive nature of the pie ideology as spiritually & historically debased. Let the Nowak case be proof they were never your friends.
So the scum that killed Henry Nowak are Sikh, who apparently are allowed to carry a weapon due to it being tied to their religious practices.
If only our people followed a religion which explicitly tells it's followers that they must carry a weapon when they leave home 🤔
"From his weapons away, no one should ever stir one step on the field; for no one knows when need might have on a sudden a man of his sword."

Repost from The Norrœna Society
The Aldrrúnar is out.
For those familiar with the Ásatrú Edda, this revised and expanded work presents the Germanic mythic cycle from creation to destruction, following the structure preserved in the Völuspá.
Drawing on the investigations of Viktor Rydberg, it brings together poems, sagas, and historical sources to show where the tradition converges, revealing how the mythology and lore align across the corpus rather than standing as isolated accounts.
The name Aldrrúnar comes from Rígsthula, where the runes of earthly life are given alongside those of what endures, pointing to the unity of lore and rite, what is known and what is practiced.

The Aldrrúnar is here! Our lore is finally rebuilt. Purging any spurious information from our previous attempts, we now have a sacred Epic that fully embodies the Germanic spirit. This text is going to be the first book of our Sedian Doctrine series, where all Norroena books will be made part of a collection.
After decades of work, with thousands of hours of research and connecting dots, our reconstruction is finally complete. Now we have it. Now our legacy is reborn. A fully-functioning religious and spiritual system emerges, one that will never be erased again. Embrace your birthright. Eschew New Age degeneracy. Become Sedian and discover your true Ancestral Endowment.

Fate is Nuanced
There are generally two types of thinking when it comes to fate: either we think we can do whatever we want (Radical Free Will), or we have no control (Hard Fatalism), but truth usually falls in-between, beyond the dualistic trap of two extremes. The third option is what we call, Soft Fatalism.
Soft Fatalism teaches us that while the time and destination of your life is fixed, your character is not. Refer back to the Sustainable Happiness Model.
Ǫrlǫg establishes our framework, i.e. our DNA, our family, the day we die, but we’re not automatons; we can choose how we face things. As the lore teaches us, fate is a neutral force that is simply the architecture of the house we live in or the rules by which we play the game.
Kostr er betri en at klökkva sé, þeim er fúss er farar; þvíat einn dag var mér aldr of skapaðr ok allt líf lagit.
Choices are better than whimpering for one who is eager to go; for one day my life was measured and all my life laid out.
This quote from the Skírnismál 13 highlights our personal agency against that which ǫrlǫg has fixed. If every thought were pre-written, whimpering wouldn't be a choice; it would just be something that happened. By telling us that courage is a "better choice," the lore is showing us that we have a mind to decide how we handle things. We don't try to escape our paths, but walk it with honor.
You can’t "life-hack" your way out of a fate, but you can choose not to whimper when it arrives. Dignity is found in aligning your will with the divine law, not wasted in a futile rebellion against it.
The destination is set, so live the journey in honor.

Repost from Germanic Faith
In regards to the Ostara Question I came across this post by a friend of mine on Facebook. Now, as with any position that one holds, there may be disagreements about certain specifics but over all this is a pretty good summary of the issue.
Here are some Ostara, facts and myths that people misconstrue all the time.
Myths:
1. Ostara is a Norse Goddess.
2. Easter was pronounced Ostara to Heathens in historical times
3. There is one historical source for Ostara (see wikipedia’s article on Ostara, which is incorrect. Wikipedia states there is one historical source on Ostara. There are two historical sources on Ostar or Eostre, in two different historical calendars to survive Christian destruction.)
4. Ostara was venerated on the Vernal Equinox
Facts
1. Ostar or Eostre is not mentioned in the Eddas, she is not mentioned in any Saga, nor is she mentioned in any Norse source. Eostre is also not mentioned in the Norse Heathen Calendar recorded by the Iceland Althing in the year 930 AD. Per the Norse Calendar and the Norse Sagas, the Norse celebrated Sigurblot as the start of Summer. This was celebrated on the same full moon the Angles, Saxons, and Franks celebrated their start of summer called "Ostar" or "Eostre." (both Ostar and Eostre are pronounced the same.)
2. Eostre is an Anglo-Saxon Goddess attested in Bede’s De Temporum Ratione chapters 15 and 62. Chapter 15 of Bede’s De Temporum Ratione is a recording of the Heathen Angle and Saxon Calendar in the year 725 AD. (Bede wrote De Temporum Ratione in the year 725 AD).
2. Ostar is how the Saxons in Saxony and the Franks in Frankia (most of the Saxon tribe did not go to England in the Migration period) pronounced Easter.
3. Ostar is attested in Einhards Vita Karolini Magni (chapter 29) written by Einhard in circa 830 AD.
4. According to Bede’s De Temporum Ratione chapter 62, the church dated Easter the same way that the Heathens did: via the full moon. According to Bede, the Saxons/Angles started their seasons of Winter and Summer after the Equinoxes, on Full Moons. Winterfylleth was the Full Moon that began Winter, and Six Full Moons later, Ostar-Full Moon began Summer. The Church, dates Easter to “the first Sunday after the first Full Moon after the vernal Equinox.” This comes straight from Saxon and Angle Heathenry.
5. Ostar was venerated by the Saxons *(in Saxony) and the Franks in Frankia. Eostre was venerated by the Angles, Saxons, Jutes, and Frisians who migrated to Brittania and gave a large portion of the Island the name Angle-Land or England.
6. The Franks were the first Germanic tribe to convert to Christianity with their king Hlodouuig (Clovis) in 496 AD. The Franks introduced the title “Easter” to the Church.
7. The Christians had more hatred towards one group of people than the Heathens: Jews. The Church renamed Christ’s Passover, to the title “The Last Supper” as Passover was considered worse than Heathen holy days. Easter was a title distinct from Passover and helped Germanic Heathens fit into the church better. (Xmas however, was determined long before the church came into contact with Germanic Heathens, and Xmas has to do with Roman and Greek Saturnalia, not the Norse “Yule.” The Church did not come into contact with the Norse for centuries after Clovis’ time.)
8. Ostara is a Wiccan Sabbath. The founder of the AFA and Asatru in America left Wicca in 1974 and brought the Wiccan Wheel of the Year into Asatru.

I don't often see a video this good. I urge you to watch it right now.
exquofonte has completely understood folkishness and this is the best video essay on it I have seen.
You are going to see a lot more videos like this as time goes on, and this is the best one yet. He distills 500,000 words of my Substack writing into a 42-minute presentation, and he hits everything important.
