YALOBUSHA CO., Mississippi 2 people died after a reported home explosion in Yalobusha Co. Coroner Ronnie Stark told WCBI the incident happened Monday evening on CR 272, near Oakland. YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio People were taken to the hospital following an explosion in downtown Youngstown just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. First responders were pulling people from the heavily damaged Realty building on E. Federal St, & ambulances were taking them to the hospital. Crews also evacuated people from the top floors, where there are apartments. Chase Bank is located at the bottom of the building. A representative of Chase Bank said they are in contact with local officials to check on the safety of everyone in the building, and after that, they will assess the damage. Those in the area reported hearing a loud boom followed by smoke and the smell of gas. Youngstown State University sent out an alert, warning people to avoid the area due to a gas explosion. DARE CO., North Carolina A house along the Eastern Carolina seashore is left in pieces after officials say it collapsed early Tuesday morning. Cape Hatteras National Seashore says cleanup activities are starting after a house at 24131 Ocean Dr collapsed around 2:30 a.m. today. Officials say the home is unoccupied. This morning’s collapse of the house is the sixth house collapse on Seashore beaches over the past 4 years. According to the National Park Service, 6 privately owned houses have fallen. Park Service officials say 4 out of the 6 houses fell within a 13-month period. The fifth house fell in March 2023. Melthum, India A stone quarry collapsed Tuesday in India’s northeast due to heavy rain triggered by a tropical storm, killing 17 quarry workers and leaving 12 missing, officials said. Senior police officer Rahul Alwal said rescuers recovered the bodies of those killed in the quarry in Melthum, about 6 kilometers (3.5 miles) from the Mizoram state capital, Aizwal, and were able to pull out 2 workers alive from the debris.
