Dear colleagues, We are pleased to inform you about the call for articles now open for the Special Issue “Water and Human Settlements of the Future”. The Special Issue aims at collecting original research and literature review articles on the state of the art and recent theoretical advances on water research, policy, and practice in cities worldwide, in relation to major global challenges and responses/solutions to these challenges. We particularly welcome articles related to integrated urban water management, water and urban metabolism, water-sensitive cities and sponge cities, urban biodiversity and nature-based solutions for climate and health emergency, and water circular economy, including articles with specific focus on policies, strategies, actions, and appropriate technologies. Connections between traditional ecological knowledge and ancestral hydro-technologies with nature-based solutions, and articles with a focus on developing context and informal settlements are also very welcome. This Special Issue is grounded in the knowledge and research activities developed in the frame of the VIII Phase (2014–2021) of the Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (IHP) of UNESCO, specifically on the thematic area of water and human settlements of the future. Thereby, the aim of this Special Issue is to further contribute to supporting evidence-based policy makings through fostering scientific advances to meet today’s global urban water challenges. የሀዘን መግለጫ የማህበራችን አባል የሆኑት ኢንጂኔር ታደሰ ኃ/ሥላሴ ተክለ (Fellow Engineer) ከዚህ አለም በሞት መለየት ማህበሩ የተሰማውን ጥልቅ ሀዘን እየገለጸን በማህበራችን ከ1990 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ ማህበሩን በመመስረትና ከመደበኛ አባልነት እስከ የስራ አስፈፃሚ ቦርድ በመሆኑ ያገለገሉ ሲሆን ህይወታቸው እስካለፈበት ቀን ድረስ ማህበሩን ደከመኝ ሰለቸኝ ሳይሉ በዕውቀትና በገንዘብ ሲደግፉ የቆዩ ሲሆን የኢትዮጵያ ሲቪል መሐንዲሶች ማህበርም የተሰማውን ልባዊ ሐዘን እየገለፀ የቀብር ስነስርዓት ላይ በሚደረገው የሽኝት መርሃ ግብር ላይ የማህበሩ አባላት በመገኘት ሐዘናችሁን እንድትገልፁ እናሳውቃለን፡፡ በታማኝነት እና በስነምግባር በሞያቸው አገራቸው ሲያገለግሉ የነበሩ መሆናቸውን ማህበሩ ይመሰክራል:: የኢትዮጵያ ሲቪል መሐንዲሶች ማህበር #Condolence On behalf of the Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers we want to express our deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of eng. May his soul Rest in Peace Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers የኢንጂኔር ታደሰ ኃ/ሥላሴ ተክለ አጭር የህይወት ታሪክ የካቲት 22 ቀን 2013 ዓ/ም ኢንጂኔር ታደሰ ኃ/ሥላሴ ተክለ ከእናታቸው ከወ/ሮ እልፍነሽ ወልደመድህን እና ከአባታቸው ከአቶ ኃ/ሥላሴ ተክለ በቀድሞ አርሲ ክ/ሀገር ዶዶታ ወረዳ ሊጋባ ከተማ ጥቅምት 14 ቀን 1933 ዓ/ም ተወለዱ፡፡ እደሜያቸው ለትምህርት ሲደርስ በአካባቢው ት/ቤት ትምህርት በመከታተል ላይ እያሉ፤ በ1940 ዓ/ም ክቡር ትዕዛዝ ወልደ ጊዩርጊስ ወልደ ዮሐንስ ወደ አዲስ አበባ አምጥተው በተፈሪ መኮንን ት/ቤት አስገብተው እየከፈሉላቸው እንዲማሩ አድርገዋል፡፡ እዚያው ት/ቤት አዳሪ በመሆን እስከ 12 ክፍል ድረስ ትምህርታቸውን ተከታትለዋል፡፡ በመቀጠል በቀዳማዊ ኃ/ሥላሴ ዩኒቨርስቲ በ1953 ዓ/ም የምህድስና ኮሌጅ በመግባት በ1957 ዓ/ም ትምህርታቸውን አጠናቅቀው ተመርቀዋል፡፡ በት/ቤት በነበሩበት ጊዜ ጀምሮ በነበራቸው የአገር ፍቅር የተነሳ በወቅቱ በነበረው ""ተምሮ ማስተማር" በሚባል ፕሮግራም ቀዳሚ ተሳታፊ ነበሩ፡፡ ከቀኃሥ ዩኒቨርስቲ እንደተመረቁ፣ ልምድ ለማግኘት በቀን ሙያተኛነት በመቀጠር፤ አሁን ዋናው ፖስታ ቤት ያለበት ህንጻ በሚገነባበት ጊዜ አገልግሎት አበርክተዋል፡፡ በዚህ ፕሮጀክት ላይ እየታዩ ደረጃ በደረጃ እስከ ፕሮጀክቱ ዋና መሐንዲስነት ድረስ አገልግለዋል፡፡ በመቀጠል ታደሰ ኃ/ሥላሴ ኮንስትራክሽን በሚል የራሳቸውን አቋቁመው ነበር፡፡ ድርጅቱን በማሳደግ ከኢንጂኔር ብርሃነ አባተ ጋር በመሆን በርታ ኮንስትራክሽን ኃ/የተ/የግ/ማህበርን አቋቋመዋል፡፡ አገር በቀል የሆኑ ተቋራጮች ሲመሠረቱ ከቀደምቶቹ አንዱ በመሆን፤ በርታ ኮንስትራክሽን በተለያዩ የመንገድ ሥራዎች ለምሳሌ ፡- ብቸና ሞጣ፣ ጅማ ጭዳ፣ ሰርዶ አፍዴራ፣ ጋሸና ላሊበላን ገንብተዋል፡፡ ፋብሪካም ገንብተዋል ለምሳሌ፡- የሐረር ቢራ ፋብሪካ፣ ሜታ ቢራ ፋብሪካ፣ ለቱሪስት መዳረሻ የሚሆኑ ታሪካዊ ቦታዎች ውስጥ በባህር ዳር "ጣና ሐይቅ" በጎንደር "ጎሃ" በላሊበላ "ሮሃ" በአክሱም "የሃን" በሒልተን ሆቴል ደረጃ የሆኑ አራት ሆቴሎችን ገንብተዋል፡፡ በሰፋፊ የመስኖ ሥራ ተግባራትም ተሳትፈዋል፣ለምሳሌ የአሚባራ መስኖ ፕሮጀክት፡፡ ኢንጂኔር ታደሰ ኃሥላሴ ስለ አገር ልማት የነበራቸው ህልም ከፍ ያለ ነበር፡፡ በተለያዩ መድረኮች ለአገር ልማት ከፍተኛ አስተዋጽኦ ሊያደርጉ የሚችሉ ሃሳቦችን አቅርበዋል፤ ያገባኛል የሚሉ ወገኖችም በሃሳባቸው ዙሪያ እንዲወያዩ አድርገዋል፡፡ በተጨማሪ ኢንጂነር ታደሰ ኃሥላሴ ስለ አገር ልማት ጽሑፎችን ለሕዝብ በተደጋጋሚ አበርክተዋል፡፡ እንዲሁም በዚሁ ጥረት በህዝብ ሚዲዎች ብዙ ገለጣዎችን አከናውነዋል፡፡ ኢንጂኔር ታደሰ ኃ/ሥላሴ ያቀርቧቸው የነበራቸው የልማት አስተያየቶች ላይ ተመርኩዞ በ2011 ዓ/ም በተመሠረተ የመሐንዲሶች የጥናት ቡድን፡ በ2050 ኢትዮጵያ በልማት የት ልትደርስ ትችላለች በሚል በተዘጋጀ መድረክ እውቅና ተሰጥቷቸው ተሸልመዋል፡፡ ኢንጂኔር ታደሰ ኃ/ስላሴ በጣም ግልጥና በጣም ቅን ግለሰብ ነበሩ፡፡ እሳቸውን መሰል ቅን ሰው ማግኘት ያዳግታል፡፡ ኢንጂነር ታደሰ ኃ/ሥላሴ ሚያዝያ 1967 ዓ/ም ከወ/ሮ ሂሩት አማረ ጋር ትዳር መሥርተው ለ46 ዓመት እስከ እለተሞታቸው ድረስ በፍቅር አብረው ኖረዋል፡፡ ኢንጂኔር ታደሰ ኃ/ሥላሴ ባደረባቸው ሕመም ምክንያት በሕክምና ሲረዱ ቆይተው በተወለዱ በ80 ዓመታቸው የካቲት 22 ቀን 2013 ዓ/ም በሞት ተለይተውናል፡፡ ቀብራቸው የካቲት 23 ቀን 2013 ዓ/ም በአራዳ መናገሻ ቅዱስ ጊዩርጊስ ቤተ ከርስቲያን ይፈፀማል ፡፡ የኢትዮጵያ ሲቪል መሐንዲሶች ማህበር
