You know nothing can really justify betrayal but in some cases which I feel like this character and the overall concept of cheating in this series includes in them too, you try to find the reason and end up realizing that the backstabber first stabbed their own self for starting the whole downward spiral.

I just strongly feel like this character has a tragic arc behind him that caused him to use any self centered/kinda destructive action as a getaway road from his actual feelings.
