dded that at the last minute it got subscribed adequately because of "sleight of hand" by someone. All the other members started laughing. I didn't get what this joke was. Overall I wasn't comfortable with this topic and I didn't fully understand some of the terms used.
M3
Decentralisation of ministries - why not have some ministries in Delhi and some else where?
Why not have Supreme Court in Thiruvananthapuram?
If so much of Governance is happening online during pandemic, what need is there for all the different Govt. bodies to be in physical proximity?
- Currently the forced work from home has made governance suboptimal and inefficient. Quoted an example from today's newspaper where Maharashtra HC postponed Maratha quota case when solicitor argued that the case is too complex to be argued over virtual court hearing.
If MNCs and other companies can outsource their work or open up branches thousands of miles away why can't Govt do the same too?
- Companies make their decisions based on the motive of profit maximisation based on factors like availability of cheap labour, cheap input. For Govt, the pros of being physically proximaty outweigh the cons of inefficiency if they are dispersed.
M4
Name some aircraft that is statically stable.
- I don't know.
Name an aircraft that is not statically stable but is made artificially stable.
- I don't know.
Why are exhaust nozzles of aircraft shaped circular and not square or some other shape?
- Having a circular shaft allows for smooth exhaust. If there are cusped edges like that of square then vortices are formed which create drag which in turn decreases the efficiency of engine.
What is the most important trait required in team work?
- Team leadership followed by coordination within the team.
Interview is over. You may leave.
Overall - Chairman asked most number of questions. In the beginning it got so foggy because of mask and head gear that I was barely able to see her. This had a very mild effect in my thinking and answering. M2 and M3 got fixated on a single topic and asked very few questions. M4 looked very unimpressed. Felt that I should have got more variety of questions.
