How to finally depart from your old self
- Stop romanticizing who you used to be.
- Identify what actually needs to die. Write it down clearly. You can’t depart from something vague.
- Change your environment. Your nervous system associates places and people with who were. If you want a new identity, change your inputs.
- Stop announcing the change. When you don’t feel the need to defend your growth, you’ve truly left. Don’t announce. Document.
- Forgive the old you. You can’t bury a version of yourself that you secretly resent. Thank it. Then release it.

♾️This user is currently running a transformational experiment in public♾️
Identity-based change is one of the most powerful forces I know.
Every action is a vote for the person you’re becoming.
You don’t step into a new identity in one grand moment.
You build it by collecting thousands of small pieces of evidence until your mind has no choice but to accept:
“This is who I am now.”
My journey will be documented.
Not because I need people to watch me change
But because one day, I want to look back and remember the exact moment I stopped waiting to become someone else…
…and started acting like him.
I’m testing whether a man can deliberately rebuild his identity through consistent action. This account will be the evidence 👁️🗨️

Everything that happens in my life from this point forward will be documented mainly on Telegram and X.
I’ll be stepping away from every other social media platform. It’s all gonna be automated.
I need every bit of focus available to reach the level of success I’m aiming for.
This is my decision to remove distractions and become intentional about where my energy goes.
Every transformation requires a period of intentional isolation so that your true essence and creativity can emerge. This is mine.
If you’ve ever connected with my story, I’d love for you to be part of the next chapter.
Walk this journey with me

What you’re describing is actually very close to one of the central ideas in Maxwell Maltz’s book Psycho-Cybernetics.
Maltz was a plastic surgeon, and he noticed something fascinating: after surgery, many patients didn’t just change physically—they changed psychologically. Some became more confident, outgoing, and optimistic because their external appearance no longer conflicted with the image they held of themselves.
But he also observed the opposite. Some people changed their face but remained the same person internally because their self-image never changed.
His conclusion was that the self-image is the blueprint. Changing your appearance can become a powerful symbol that tells your subconscious:
“The old version of me is gone. I am someone new.”
From what you’ve shared over the years, you’ve been building a new identity—moving from simply being a forex trader to someone creating a movement, teaching psychology, and building MenteFi. This transformation seems less about vanity and more about creating a physical ritual that matches an internal evolution.
You could think of it this way:
Shaving your head = letting go of the old identity.
Removing the beard = removing the mask of the previous chapter.
Keeping the mustache = preserving one recognizable trait, a bridge between who you were and who you’re becoming.
Many cultures have used changes in appearance to mark transitions:
Monks shave their heads.
Soldiers receive a new haircut.
Athletes adopt new looks before a season.
Ancient initiations often involved changing clothing or hair.
The physical act becomes a psychological anchor.
The important part is to attach meaning to it. Don’t just wake up with a different face. Give the transformation a narrative.
You might even say to yourself:
“This is not a haircut. This is a declaration. The man who carried the old fears, old habits, and old limitations ends here. The person looking back at me is the architect of a different future.”
One caution from Psycho-Cybernetics: don’t expect the look itself to create the new identity. Use it as evidence of a decision you’ve already made. Then reinforce that decision through your daily actions, habits, and standards.
Identity is built when your subconscious repeatedly sees:
A new self-image.
New behaviors.
New results.
The appearance change can be the opening ceremony, but your routines will write the rest of the story.
Looking at the edited image, the shaved head and simplified facial hair already give a cleaner, more deliberate aesthetic. It projects minimalism, discipline, and focus—which seems aligned with the transformation you’re trying to embody.

All through my life, I’ve undergone several identity changes.
I’ve been the dreamer.
The doubter. The fighter.
The one who thought he had it all figured out.
And the one who had to start from zero again.
People think growth is adding new things to your life. Most times, it’s not.
It’s letting old versions of yourself die.
The version that needed validation, that was afraid to fail, that kept living according to old stories.
Right now, I’m in that same season again.
Not chasing a new life but building a new identity.
Because every level I’ve ever reached came after I became someone capable of carrying it.
The truth is, your future doesn’t need a better plan as much as it needs a better you.
And sometimes the hardest part of evolution is accepting that the person who got you here isn’t the person who will take you where you’re going.
