Narrated Ibn `Abbaas, may Allaah be pleased with them: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to supplicate at times of distress, "There is no deity worthy of worship (in truth) except Allaah, the Most Great, the Most Forbearing. There is no deity worthy of worship (in truth) except Allaah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Great Throne." Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree, No. 6345

WHAT IS BACKBITING? Abu Hurairah narrated that Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "Do you know what is backbiting?" The Companions said: "Allāh and His Messenger know best." Thereupon he said, "Backbiting is to say something about your (Muslim) brother which he dislikes." It was said to him: "What if my (Muslim) brother is as I say." He said, "If he is actually as you say, then that is backbiting; but if what you say of him is not true, that is slandering." [Muslim (2589)] ------------------------------------------------- IS BACKBITING HARĀM IN ALL CASES? NO. There are 6 instances where backbiting is permissible: 1. When complaining to a higher authority or those who can help restore your rights from the one who wronged you. 2. Seeking help from others to rectify an evil. 3. Seeking advice/ Fatwā about someone else's wrongdoing. 4. Warning the Muslims of someone's evil. 5. When speaking about an open sinner, it's permissible to speak about those crimes which they perpetrate openly, but it's not permissible to backbite them for anything else, without a valid reason.   6. For identification purposes. For example, if someone is known by a certain nickname, such as “big foot” or “chubby cheeks”; you can refer to them using these nicknames - so long as the intention is not to insult them, however, using other names is better - wherever possible.  [These 6 exceptions were mentioned by An-Nawawi in his explanation of the ḥadīth above].

Abuu Bakr As-Siddeeq, may Allaah be pleased with him, said to the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam: "teach me a supplication by which I may invoke (Allaah) in my prayer." He (the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Say, Oh Allaah, I have oppressed myself with a great oppression, and there is none who forgives sins except You. So forgive me with forgiveness from You, and have mercy upon me. Verily, You are the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful." Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree, No. 6326

بســـم اللــه الرحــمــن الـرحـــيــم ▪️Ruling on saying Ṣalāh Ibrāhimiyyah (*) in the 1st and 2nd Tashahhud as well as seeking refuge from the four matters▪️ Our Shaykh, Muḥammad ibn Ḥizām -may Allāh preserve him- was asked the following question: 📩 Question: The questioner says: Is it obligatory to say the Ṣalāh Ibrāhimiyyah in the first and last tashahhud? And what is the ruling on seeking refuge with Allāh from the four (evils) in the last tashahhud? 📝 Answer: The scholars differed as to whether the Ṣalāh Ibrāhimiyyah is obligatory (wājib) or something desirable (mustaḥab), and the majority of scholars (jumhūr) have said that it is desirable, including Imām Mālik, Ash-Shāfi’ē and others. But it is a highly emphasised Sunnah because the Prophet ﷺ commanded with it. However, this command is downgraded from that of obligation to desirability due to the ḥadīth of ‘Abdullāh ibn Mas'ūd raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhū that the Prophet ﷺ said: “...if you say that then you have completed your prayer,” i.e, “once you have reached '(ash-hadu an lā ilāha illa llāh wa ash-hadu anna Muḥammadan) ‘abduhu wa rasūlu' - as mentioned in a different report. In another narration he ﷺ said, “after that (i.e. upon completing the tashahhud), you can supplicate with whatever supplication you wish.” What also strengthens the opinion of desirability is the ḥadīth of Abū Hurairah, reported by Abū Dāwūd and Aḥmad, concerning the incident with youth; the Prophet ﷺ asked him, “What do you say in your prayer?“ He said, 'I make tashahhud and ask Allāh for paradise and protection from the Hellfire. I don't know what you and Mu‘ādh mutter (in your prayers).' So the Prophet ﷺ said, “we mutter words similar to that.” This proves that the Ṣalāh Ibrāhimiyyah is not from the obligations of the prayer (wājibāt). Nonetheless, it is a highly emphasised Sunnah. The jumhūr also used as proof the ḥadīth of the one who prayed badly; wherein the Prophet ﷺ did not command him to say the Ṣalāh Ibrāhimiyyah. Therefore, it seems that the more correct stance is that it is desirable, although highly emphasised. So if that's the case, then it goes without saying that seeking refuge from the four (evils) is likewise desirable and not obligatory. And the obligation in this case is also downgraded by the above evidences; among which is the ḥadīth, “thereafter, let him choose any supplication of his choice.” This proves that seeking refuge from the four (evils) is something desirable and not obligatory, and this is the opinion of the majority of scholars. __________ Translated by: Abū Isḥāq Muḥammad Ibn Aḥmad Bā 'Alawī Click to subscribe: T.me/ibnhezamen Original Fatwa: https://t.me/ibnhezam/5615 (*) Ṣalāh Ibrāhimiyyah is to say: ((اللهم صل على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما صليت على إبراهيم وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد، اللهم بارك على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما باركت على إبراهيم وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد))

Ash Shaykh Ibn Baz said, “If you see a man following the gatherings of knowledge, asking about knowledge, gaining understanding and insight in regards to it, then that is a sign from Allah that He wants good for him. Thus, he should stick and hold on to that”. End translation. [Fataawa of Shaykh Bin Baz, volume 27, page 394] ✒️ Translated by Majid Jawed Al-Afghanee Abu Layl 📎Source : Torontodawah.com

*بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم* Allah’s Sacred Month of Muharram It is the first month of the Hijri calendar and is one of the four sacred months concerning which Allah says that which translates as: *“Verily, the number of months with Allah is 12 months (in a year), so it was ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them, four are sacred. That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein.”* (Qur’an, 9:36) Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: *“The year is 12 months of which four are sacred, the three consecutive months of Dul Qadah, Dul Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab, which comes between Jumada and Shaban.”* (Bukhari) Muharram is called this because it is a sacred (muharram) month and to confirm its sanctity. Allah Almighty says that which translates as: *“...so wrong not yourselves therein …”* (Tafsir of Ibn Kathir) Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: *‘The best of fasting after Ramadan is fasting Allah’s month of Muharram.”* (Muslim) Ibn Abbas said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) came to Madinah and saw Jews fasting on Ashura. He said, *‘What is this?’* They said, ‘This is a righteous day, it is the day when Allah saved the Children of Israel from their enemies, so Musa fasted on this day.’ He (ﷺ) said, *‘We have more right to Musa than you,’* so he fasted on that day and commanded (the Muslims) to fast on that day.” (Bukhari) The practice of fasting on Ashura was known even in the days of Jahiliyyah, before the Prophet’s mission. It was reported that Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: *“The people of Jahiliyyah used to fast on that day.”* Apparently the motive for commanding the Muslims to fast on this day was the desire to be different from the Jews, so that the Muslims would fast when the Jews did not, because people do not fast on a day of celebration. (Bukhari) Fasting on Ashura was a gradual step in the process of introducing fasting as a prescribed obligation in Islam. Fasting appeared in three forms. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to Madinah, he told the Muslims to fast on three days of every month and on the day of Ashura, then Allah made fasting obligatory when He said: *“ … observing the fasting is prescribed for you …"* (Al-Qur’an, 2:183) The obligation was transferred from the fast of Ashura to the fast of Ramadan. It was reported from Ibn Mas’ud that when fasting Ramadan was made obligatory, the obligation to fast Ashura was lifted i.e. it was no longer obligatory to fast on this day, but it is still desirable (mustahab). •°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°|°•°•°•°•°•°•°•° ✨"﴿وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَى تَنفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴾"✨ ﴾And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.﴿ https://t.me/Striv4Jannah
