መድረኩን የከፈቱት የገንዘብ ሚኒስትር ዲኤታ ክብርት ወ/ሮ ሰመሬታ ሰዋሰው እንደገለጹት እኛ ኢትዮጵያዊያን ባለን መልክዕ-ምድራዊ አቀማመጥ፣ በተፈጥሮ ሀብትና በሰው ኃይል የታደልን መሆናችን በማስታወስ እነዚህን በአግባቡ አቀናጅተን እንደ ሀገር ከእርዳታ ጠባቂነትና ከተረጅነት መንፈስ መውጣት ይገባናል ብለዋል፡፡ በማህበረሰብ ደረጃ በችግር ጊዜ መረዳዳታችን የቆየ ሀገራዊ እሴታችን ቢሆንም አሁን እየታየ ያለውን የተዛነፈ በእርዳታ የመኖር ልማድ አጢነንና መርምረን ዜጎች ከተረጅነት አስተሳሰብ ተላቀው ሰርተው ለመለወጥ እንዲችሉ በሚደረገው ንቅናቄ ሁሉም የድርሻውን ሊወጣ እንደሚገባ ገልጸዋል፡፡ በመድረኩ የቀረበውን የውይይት ሰነድ ተከትሎም የመድረኩ ተሳታፊዎች በበኩላቸው ተረጅነትና ልመና የግለሰብ፣ የማህበረሰብና የሀገርን ሁለንተናዊ ክብር ዝቅ የሚያደርግ ተግባርና አስተሳሰብ መሆኑን በመረዳት የአመለካከት ለውጥ ላይ በተደራጀ አግባብ በቅንጅት ሊሰራበት እንደሚገባ አመልክተዋል፡፡

"ከተረጅነት ወደ ምርታማነት - ለተሟላ ሀገራዊ ሉዓላዊነትና ክብር" በሚል መሪ ቃል በገንዘብ ሚኒስቴር ውይይት ተካሄደ፡፡ ሰኔ 19/2016 ዓ.ም - "ከተረጅነት ወደ ምርታማነት ለተሟላ ሀገራዊ ሉዓላዊነትና ክብር" በሚል መሪ ቃል ከተረጂነት አስተሳሰብ ለመላቀቅና በቤተሰብ ደረጃ የምግብ ዋስትናን ለማረጋገጥ በወጣው የማስፈፀሚያ ሰነድ ላይ ከገንዘብ ሚኒስቴር እና ተጠሪ ተቋማት ከተውጣጡ አመራርና ሰራተኞች ጋር በሚኒስቴሩ የመሰብሰቢያ አዳራሽ ውይይት ተካሄደ፡፡ የውይይት መድረኩ ዋንኛ ዓላማ እንደ ሀገር ከተረጂነት አስተሳሰብ በመላቀቅ በቤተሰብ ደረጃ የምግብ ዋስትናን ለማረጋገጥ በሚደረገው ጥረት ሰራተኛው የችግሩን አሰከፊነት በመገንዘብ የራሱን ሚና እንዲወጣ ማስቻል መሆኑ ታውቋል።

Ethiopia signs a 4.7 million Euro Grant Agreement with the Republic of Italy June 25, 2024 - The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Republic of Italy signed 4.7 million € (equivalent to 291 million Birr) grant agreement at Ministry of Finance. The implementing agreement entitled “Strengthening of the SGBV (Sexual Gender Based Violence) and MHPSS (Mental Health Psychosocial Support) services in Ethiopia” aims to strengthen the local system in the provision and expansion of quality, equitable and accessible gender-based violence and mental health psychosocial support services in conflict-affected three regions and in Addis Ababa. The Agreement was signed by H.E. Semereta Sewasew, State Minister of MoF and H.E. Agostino Palese Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia.

The Individual Measures projects follow a unique implementation modality, as most of them are primarily implemented by third parties such as UN agencies, EU Member States and international NGOs with EU’s financial support. The review meeting was conducted in the presence of H.E Semereta Sewasaw , State Minister of Finance and Mr. Roberto Schiliro, Acting Head of Cooperation of the European Union Delegation to Ethiopia and attended by representatives of sectoral ministries that are the primary beneficiaries of EU’s Individual Measures interventions.

Individual Measures Projects Review Meeting has been Conducted June 6, 2024 – The individual measures projects review meeting on the EU support to Ethiopia in the period 2021-2023 with a resource allocation of EUR 339 million has been Conducted. The meeting has focused on interventions in the areas of health, education, food security and social protection, reconciliation and peace building, agriculture, response to climate shocks, support to persons displaced by conflict and natural disasters and support for the recovery of micro, small and medium enterprises in the post conflict areas.

It has been highlighted in the discussion that the Development Partners Group (DPG) has been instrumental in supporting these reforms, while the roundtable served as a platform to identify areas for further collaboration. The meeting underscored the importance of addressing institutional and capacity gaps to ensure the successful implementation of these initiatives. The key government entities namely, the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration (MoTRI), the Ethiopian Investment Commission (ECA), the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA), and the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX), provided updates on the roundtable discussion on various initiatives aimed at enhancing the business climate and fostering economic ties.

A Roundtable Discussion on Private Sector Development has been Conducted June 5, 2024 - The Ministry of Finance held a roundtable discussion on private sector development with development partners group to deliberate on advancing private sector development as an extension of the Homegrown Economic Reform Agenda (HGER) 2.0. The roundtable discussion was a testament to Ethiopia’s proactive approach in creating a conducive environment for private investment in encouraging the private sector, alleviating major challenges, and implementing better policies and regulatory changes. Moreover, the meeting emphasized that Ethiopia is actively reforming its business climate to foster private sector growth as part of the HGER 2.0 in which the Government of Ethiopia is keen on hearing from the private sector about their challenges.

The Nairobi ministerial gathering, where BADEA, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa announced its full-fledged membership with the HoAI, served as a testament to the unwavering commitment of leaders and partners to the Horn of Africa's development.

Under the leadership of Ethiopia's Finance Minister, Ahmed Shide, and co-chair Marie-Laure of the African Development Bank, the event marked a significant stride towards regional unity and prosperity. Minister Shide, in his opening remarks, acknowledged the critical contributions of his Kenyan counterpart, Cabinet Secretary Prof. Njuguna, and praised the African Development Bank for their role in orchestrating the HoAI meeting alongside their annual event. The assembly recognized the essential support of development partners and at the event Germany announced a €10 million grant to the HoAI confirming that this pledge is part of a larger collaborative effort, aimed at replenishing the Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) and enhancing the Initiative's foundational work
