2 of 2 All of us –at some point, in some way– are the encouragers. We’re found in the hands that cradles the hurting or mends what is broken. We bake something delicious, we draw something beautiful, we write something, we sing something, we pluck the chord, or we share our insights after reading a book. We pray for, give, and donate. So when you’re feeling weary or forlorn or numb, and you wonder why you seem to be the one others turn to, with the Holy Spirit’s help, consider that God put you here –the center of the wheel with many spokes connecting– to be a blessing for others. You are the good that happens to others because God equips you to point the way to Him. Do whatever it takes to rest in the quiet place beneath His wing so you can keep being the encourager others need.

1 of 2 I posed the question once: who encourages the encouragers? Yes, we run to the Father. We visit The Well and sit for a moment, soaking in His refreshing peace. Then we venture out, facing the negative, the thoughtless, the exhausting. And sometimes, we become so distracted, so edgy, so flustered, so gray that we forget to scooch back under His wings. We want to extend grace to those who fling words without thought for how much it hurts when it hits us. Maybe us not saying anything is our way of showing grace. Or maybe we bark something back and regret settles in after. How many times are we short tempered with those we deeply love because someone else hurt us? Maybe we tuck the negativity that impacted us into the quiet places of our heart. Maybe we wonder how we can be helpful for others when we don't feel very helpful for those we cherish. Maybe we wonder how we're serving the LORD when we haven't fully surrendered or unloaded our burdens to Him. Maybe we believe the lies of an enemy that stealthily dissuades and diverts us.

I was introduced to jazz and blues in my early 20s and it's a genre I enjoy. Just today I came across a blues compilation from Holy Groove on YouTube (they are on Spotify as well). The musical collection is chapters from the Book of Psalm. It is... as awesome as you think it would be! And... it's something I didn't even know I needed! David's emotions go quite well with the blues music. Give it a listen and see if it lends itself a fresh way to praise our Beautiful Creator. https://youtu.be/6rz6D787n0U

We are having a perfectly chill day today. I hope you are as well 😊 Since this is the twins last year of high school, I'm making every effort to provide some memorable events through our homeschool organization. Yesterday high schoolers enjoyed cooling off on 17' water slide. I can inform you that standing about 15 feet away was not enough space to avoid being on the receiving end of HUGE splash those teen boys showing off love to generate. My camera made it. I did, too.

June 7, 2025 Father, I’ve clenched my fists long enough. I’ve white-knuckled my way through storms You never asked me to command. I’ve worn myself out trying to fix what only Your hands can heal. So today, I let go. Not in defeat, but in surrender. Not in weakness, but in warfare. Because true strength is laying down the idol of control and lifting up the name that never fails. God, I confess I’ve tried to play Savior in a world that already has one. I’ve micromanaged my mess and called it responsibility. I’ve confused anxiety with planning and fear with wisdom. I don’t need to approve Your will. I just need to trust it. So wreck my pride if You have to. Tear down the scaffolding I’ve built around my fears. Reroute my plans, ruin my comfort, and realign my steps until they match Your pace, Your path, Your purpose. I don’t want safe. I want sanctified. I don’t want predictable. I want powerful. And I don’t want control. I want Christ. Jesus, be the only one at the wheel. Let my hands fall empty while Your Spirit takes over. When I let go, You lift me up. When I stop trying, You start moving. And when I die to self, resurrection power shows up. Break me open if You must, but don’t let me walk another step pretending I’m in charge. I trust You. I surrender. And I refuse to take back the reins. In the name of the One who holds the universe. -Chad Prather
