06 Regarding alhpa blocker :
The favourite drug in urolgy
Main indication is BPH
And it is first line in pt. HTN and BPH
The important point rrgard this drug ( always asked about that in urology)
اجتنه بالوزاري...
Side effect of it :
F)loppy iris syndrome
F)irst dose syncope
F)alse ejaculation( retrograde ejaculation)
F)lase + ANA
So if patient on Alpha blocker and comr with infertility
First thing is to exclude Retrograde ejacultion
So sent the pt.
Semen analysis ( oligosperma with normal motility and suvival)
And Urine analysis ( spern in urine )
This well confirm the diagnosis before you go to expesive invstigation.
Please put this in your mind when deal with case of infertility( 1-Cheak drugs that pt. Taken
2-send pt. Inaddition to semen analysis -urine analysis ((so easy and cheap invstigation))
Second thing ( as we mention it cause Floppy iris syndrome )
So this may lead to delay the surgery of catract if patient had catarct ( which is common in old )
And we all know thet BPH occur in old age pt.
