Change of Plans Due to the original venue being too small to accommodate students, the lesson will now take place online via Telegram: https://t.me/madrasatuna Instead of a one-day lecture, we will cover Hilyat Talib al-‘Ilm by Sheikh Bakr over four Saturdays, inshaAllah, starting from tomorrow after Maghrib. May Allah make this a beneficial stepping stone for every seeker of knowledge.

#LIFE_LESSONS How You Treat Others Is How Allah Treats You Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "من عفا عفا الله عنه، ومن سامح أخاه في إساءته إليه سامحه الله في إساءته، ومن أغضى وتجاوز تجاوز اللهُ عنه، ومن استقصىٰ استقصىٰ اللهُ عليه. فالله عزّ وجلّ يُعامِلُ العبدَ في ذنوبه بمثل ما يعامِلُ به العبدُ النَّاسَ في ذنوبهم." “Whoever forgives, Allah will forgive him. Whoever excuses his brother for wronging him, Allah will excuse him for his own wrongs. Whoever overlooks and lets things go, Allah will overlook his faults. But whoever is strict and demands full accountability, Allah will deal with him just as strictly. So Allah treats a person’s sins in the same way that the person treats other people’s sins.” [Miftāḥ Dār As-Saʿādah, 2/826] #Tarbiyah@masjidsahabah

#LIFE_LESSONS Importance of Qur'ān Classes Sheikh 'Uthaymīn, may Allāh have mercy on him, said: "I urge my brothers who Allāh the Almighty has blessed with children, to encourage their children to join Qur'ān memorisation circles, and to check up on their progress once they've joined by keeping contact with those responsible over these circles to follow-up on them. For indeed, reciting the Book of Allāh is one of the reasons for righteousness. And the righteousness of a child is something beneficial for the parent not only in this life, but also after their death; just as the Prophet ﷺ said: "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except three: (1) ongoing charity (2) beneficial knowledge (3) or a righteous child who supplicates for them." And without doubt, enrolling in these circles results in much good and prevents a great deal of harm. [Among the benefits of] attending these circles: 1- [the child] is able to memorise the Holy Qur'ān, and they grow a love and a sense of inclination towards it 2- they become attached to the houses of Allāh -The Mighty and Majestic- 3 - they make use of their time in order to accomplish this noble objective. 4 - the child receives a good upbringing, for which their parents/carers will be rewarded 5 - those who gather to recite the Qur’ān in the house of Allāh will also attain reward; [as the Prophet ﷺ said:] "No people get together in a house from the houses of Allāh, reciting the Book of Allāh, and learning it together among themselves, but tranquility comes down to them, (Divine) mercy covers them (from above), and the angels surround them, and Allāh mentions them to those [angels] who are with Him." And just as these are [some of] the benefits that may be attained from attending these circles, in the same way, a great deal of harm is kept at bay. And I also urge my brothers those of whom Allāh has blessed financially, to donate some of what Allāh has blessed them with [towards this cause]. For indeed, spending on these circles is among the greatest deeds, whereby the donor receives the same reward as those who partake in them, as is mentioned about the one who equips a fighter; the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever equips a fighter in the way of Allāh is as if he has taken part in the fighting himself." I also urge all of my Muslim brothers to encourage these circles with all kinds of moral and material encouragement, acting by the words of Allāh the Almighty: {وَتَعَاوَنُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلۡبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقۡوَىٰۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡعُدۡوَ ٰنِ} "Cooperate with one another in righteousness and piety." [Surah Al-Ma'idah 2] [Majmū' Fatāwā Ibn 'Uthaymīn (26/ 512-510)] --- But if I enrol my child, they might fall behind in their regular academic studies ❓ Sheikh 'Uthaymīn, may Allāh have mercy on him, said: "Do not be deceived by what some people assume, that if the student joins these [Qur'ān] circles that it becomes so unbearable for them that they end up falling behind in some subjects; this delusion is from the whispers of Shayṭān -may Allāh protect us and you from him-. For indeed, the teachers in the secular schools bear witness to the fact that the children who enroll in Qur'ān circles in the mosques are more well mannered than the rest; and they are more focused in their studies; and for this reason, you find them at the forefront of all the students, which proves that this illusion is false and unfounded. ZAKATUL FITR REMINDER I hope you have taken the time to review the rulings on Zakatul Fitr. If you haven't already, here's the link: [https://t.me/masjidsahabah/566] For those residing in the West, finding eligible recipients for Zakatul Fitr can be challenging. As a result, many choose to send money abroad. If you are doing so, consider the following points of advice: Point 1: Zakatul Fitr must be given in the form of food, not money. Therefore, if you are sending funds overseas, ensure that those handling the distribution purchase and distribute food accordingly. Point 2: The most deserving recipients of Zakatul Fitr are your poor relatives. Giving to them not only fulfills your obligation but also earns you additional reward for maintaining family ties. Note: This does not include close relatives whom you are obligated to provide for, such as parents, spouses, and children. Point 3: If you are uncertain about how to distribute your Zakatul Fitr, you may entrust our brother Tawheed, who will ensure your contributions are used to purchase and distribute rice in Nigeria. The cost of rice equivalent to one Ṣā’ is £3. Any extra funds will be given as Sadaqah, in shā Allāh. If you wish to participate, please transfer your contributions to: Name: Idowu Kolajo Bank: Monzo Bank Account Number: 60215358 Sort Code: 04-00-04 When making the payment, include the number of people you are paying for as a reference. Example: £12 (Ref: 4 People). Deadline: Zakatul Fitr must be paid by Saturday, 29th March, before ‘Ishā prayer (8:30 PM). May Allāh bless you all.

Ramadhan 1447 (Day 13) Food vs. Prayer
Question:
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته I break my fast at the masjid, pray Maghrib, and then return home. When I arrive home, I immediately pray the post-Maghrib Sunnah even though food has been served. Is my action correct?
Sheikh Muhammad Ba Jammal
وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته If you are not preoccupied with food and your mind is not distracted by it during prayer, then there is no problem(1). ------------ (1) The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ((لا صَلَاةَ بحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ)) "There is no prayer when food is served."
