“اَلبِشرُ أوَّلُ البِرِّ۔”

“أكْثِرِ النَّظَرَ إلى مَنْ فُضِّلْتَ عَلَيْهِ، فَإنَّ ذلِكَ مِنْ أبْوابِ الشُّكرِ۔”

“سِتَّةٌ يُخْتَبَرُ بِها دينُ الرَّجلِ: قُوَّةُ الدينِ، وصِدْقُ اليَقينِ، وَشِدَّةُ التَّقوى، ومُغالَبَةُ الهَوى، وقِلَّةُ الرََّغْبِ، والإجْمالُ فِي الطَّلَبِ۔”

“Six things are used to test the faith of a man: the strength of his religion, the truth of his conviction, the intensity of his piety, his overcoming vain desires, the paucity of his [worldly] inclinations and his being moderate in what he seeks.”
