#BeOpenDESIGN Transport for London (TfL) has introduced moquette-inspired silhouette-shaped posters behind platform benches on the Elizabeth Line to cover up stains caused by passengers leaning on the white walls, known as "ghost marks." The posters, which will first be installed at stations like Bond Street and Tottenham Court Road, offer a sustainable and effective solution to maintain the line’s aesthetic, enhancing both cleanliness and the passenger experience. #BeOpenNEWS #BeOpenART Thimphu-based artist Tandin Chophel has been awarded BE OPEN Art’s Regional Artist of the Month for South Asia for March, completing the trio of finalists vying for the title of Regional Artist for South Asia. This honor follows Khando Wangmo (Bhutan, February) and Malinda Jayasinghe (Sri Lanka, January) in BE OPEN’s three-month initiative celebrating emerging artistic talent from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Tandin Chophel now joins Wangmo and Jayasinghe in the running for the overall title of Regional Artist for South Asia. The ultimate winner, determined by a combination of public and BE OPEN community votes, will be awarded a €500 prize.

#BeOpenART #BeOpenNEWS Following its successful South Asia edition, BE OPEN Art is expanding its Regional Art program to Oceania, spotlighting emerging artists from Australia, East Timor, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, New Zealand, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. From April to June, 20 artists will be featured monthly in the online gallery, with a public vote determining the Regional Artist of the Month. At the end of the three-month period, one winner will be named the Regional Artist for Oceania and awarded a €500 prize. This initiative continues BE OPEN Art’s commitment to showcasing global talent that addresses contemporary challenges through art.

Elevated on a concrete plinth to minimize disruption to the site, the cabin features an angular, geometric form that cantilevers over the sloping terrain. The black exterior, crafted from lightweight cement boards stained to blend with the surrounding bushland, was designed to harmonize with the environment while reducing visual impact. Raised off the ground, the structure allows local fauna to pass through, and the building’s angular shape avoids interference with the surrounding tree canopy. #BeOpenDESIGN A playful, hen-shaped chicken coop named Heir and a Spare will soon be built at the Grizedale Arts Centre in the Lake District, UK. Designed by Phineas Harper, Jos Geczy, and Rosa Nussbaum, the mobile coop will house 12 chickens and feature a wheelbarrow-inspired structure with a large rubber tire for easy relocation. Clad in timber shingles that mimic hen feathers, the coop will have a red ceramic finial resembling a chicken's comb.
