የቤት አከራዮች ተከራዮችን ለማስወጣት የ2 ወር ማስጠንቀቂያ ጊዜ እንዲሰጡ የሚያስገድደው አዋጅ ከሰኔ 1 ጀምሮ ተፈጻሚ ይሆናል ማክሰኞ ግንቦት 27 ቀን 2016 (አዲስ ማለዳ) በሕዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት መጋቢት 24 ቀን 2016 የጸደቀው 'የመኖሪያ ቤት ኪራይ ቁጥጥር እና አስተዳደር አዋጅ ቁጥር 1320/2016' ከሰኔ 1 ቀን 2016 ጀምሮ ተፈጻሚ እንደሚሆን ተገለጸ። አዲስ ማለዳ ከከተማ አስተዳደሩ ኮምኒኬሽን ቢሮ ባገኘችው መረጃ የአዲስ አበባ ቤቶች ልማት እና አስተዳደር ቢሮ ኃላፊ ቅድስት ወልደጊዮርጊስ እንደገለጹት አዋጁ የመኖሪያ ቤት ኪራይ ቁጥጥር እና አስተዳደር የተረጋጋ ፣ ግልፅነት እና ተጠያቂነት ያለው እንዲሁም የአከራይ እና የተከራዮችን ጥቅም እና መሰረታዊ መብቶች ሚዛን በጠበቀ መልኩ ለመፈፀም የተደነገገ ነው። የመኖሪያ ቤት ኪራይ ቁጥጥር እና አስተዳደር አዋጅን ለመተግበር የሚያስችል ውይይት ተካሄዷል። አዋጁ በውስጡ የመኖሪያ ቤት ኪራይ ውል እና ዋጋ፣ የአስፈጻሚ አካላት ስልጣን እና ሌሎች ድንጋጌዎች እንደተካተቱበት አዲስ ማለዳ ማዘገቧ አይዘነጋም። በተጨማሪም የቤት አከራዮች ቅድመ ክፍያ መጠየቅ የሚችሉት የሁለት ወር ብቻ እንዲሆን የሚደነግግ ሲሆን ተከራዮችን ለማስለቀቅም የሁለት ወራት የዝግጅት ጊዜ እንዲሰጥ ያስገድዳል። ከዚህ ባለፈም መንግስት ማግኘት ያለበትን ግብር እንዲያገኝ እንደሚያስችል የምክር አባላት ገልጸው ነበር። ነምቤኦ (NUMBEO) የተባለ በሰርቢያ አገር መቀመጫውን ያደረገ የአገራትን የኑሮ ደረጃ የሚመዝኑ መረጃዎችን የሚያጋራ ድረ ገጽ የአገራቱን ዜጎች ገቢ እና የመኖሪያ ቤት ዋጋ ጥምርታን በማነጻጸር ባወጣው ሪፖርት ኢትዮጵያውያን ለመኖሪያ ቤት የሚያወጡት ዋጋ ከገቢያቸው ላይ 43 ነጥብ 1 በመቶ እንደሆነ ተመላክቷል።
