New video was just posted. It's talking 2 systems that you need to think about when making sentences in Russian 🇷🇺

During one of the lessons and reading Harry Potter in Russian, me and my student noticed something interesting in the translation.
🇬🇧 English original - Wizard indeed!
🇷🇺 Russian translation - Тоже мне волшебник!
(волшебник = wizard, so let's focus on "Тоже мне = indeed")
There’s a great Russian phrase — “тоже мне.” You can’t translate it word-for-word, and you definitely shouldn’t try to understand it as “тоже” + “мне.” It only works as a fixed expression.
What it really does is show irony: you don’t quite believe what was said or think it’s exaggerated, but you react in a light, slightly mocking way.
So, Uncle Vernon saying "Тоже мне волшебник" is an irony and mocking Harry for being regular (which of course isn't true)
—
Another example: a kid makes pasta 🍝and calls himself an Italian chef.
You might say: “тоже мне итальянец (look at this Italian!)” — not to correct him, but to gently tease.
So the key idea: “тоже мне” is a single unit with a built-in ironic tone.
